    Pros

Great company, competitive salary, excellent benefits - interesting work with a fulfilling mission. Great autonomy, room for creativity, and openness to process improvement. Senior leadership are accessible and available, regardless of where you fall within the company hierarchy.

    Cons

Experiences vary and are largely team driven.

    Advice to Management

Be willing to cut loose under-performing leadership that are resistant to change or improvement - or who are no longer thriving or motivated by the mission. There are at least some instances of supervisors that are just there because the compensation is better than they could get anywhere else with their experience. It can drag the team down.

When you how friends and relatives your not going to get the same standard of work as someone who is actually qualifed for the position.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

The best thing I can say about this company is that they hire smart people. There are some of the smartest software developers I've ever worked with here. Pay is average for this area.

    Cons

They encourage cowboys and divas. Women are often discriminated against openly. With over 20 directors, not a single one was a woman or person of color. The encourage a "yes man" environment, where groupthink is prevalent and encouraged.

    Advice to Management

Don't keep people around just because you play volleyball with them. Find a real CFO.

I worked at Intelligent Software Solutions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

While working overseas had great Program Managers and Supervisors. The small core of folks who worked in Bagram were very good.

    Cons

Management hired a bunch of friends and former co-workers from other jobs. These folks were highly unqualified and unprofessional. One manager in particular who claims he was a pilot in the U.S. Air Force was so verbally abusive and overbearing, I almost filed a formal complaint with HR and the State of Colorado. The place was full of absolute buddy system and gangs of friends, you could never get any changes to the product because of these people.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of your buddies and former friends. They are doing nothing for your company except keeping the chance for positive change from ever happening.
