I have been working at Intematix (More than a year)

    Pros

The people who work here are very nice, the company is driven to be successful, the location is very convenient, and the work environment is friendly.

    Cons

This location is in transition as it becomes primarily R&D and Corporate headquarters. Most of manufacturing operations were moved to another location last year. The number of employees here is smaller since manufacturing was moved.

    Advice to Management

Communicate more frequently with employees, not just once a quarter.

I have been working at Intematix (More than a year)

    Pros

you can get some experiences from other departments.

    Cons

    - A lot of work
    - You won't have any career growth
    - The amount of work > the salary you suppose to have
    - Some directors do not have any concern about employees' safety or health.
    - There is biggest safety concern in the laboratory environment, which the company fails to improve. If you do not want to become an unhealthy person in the future, do not apply any engineer position in this company!
    - If you have any other opportunity, just stay away from this company!

I worked at Intematix full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    1. Company are full of talented engineers to work with and readily offers a helping hands.
    2. Great people to work with.
    3. Challenging work and flexible schedules.

    Cons

    1. Focus on short versus long term goals, quick results, and the metrics for upper management center on accounting versus engineering.
    2. Management is designed to serve themselves at the expense of engineers. Executives care more about their bonuses than employee benefits.
    3. Meetings are extremely long sometimes up to 2 and 1/2 hours without focus.
    4. Way too much favoritism for people from certain nationality especially Chinese.
    5. The one thing that stands out the most was the overall unprofessional senior upper management. (CEO can't even say hello back to you when you greet him, no respect at all).

    Advice to Management

    1. If you want long term success you need to show more employee loyalty, eventually you will find out when it is too late that your best talent has gone somewhere else and you are no longer competitive.
    2. Screwing people won't make the company more successful, by giving advanced notice for lay-off.

    Pros

The facility is nice but lots of empty cubicles and filled fancy offices. If you are a phosphor chemist or ex Philips Lumileds or BridgeLux you might be valued. Otherwise, apply at own risk.

    Cons

Technically intelligent group but lots of in fighting within the fancy offices. Product introductions should be less shot gun approach and better lower quantity strategic introductions with higher probability of market success.

    Advice to Management

Believe in who you hire, use and promote their talents, show them their worth don't use degrading sarcasm to inspire and drive success.

25 cent vending machine but who really cares
Free breakfast on Fridays...mostly bagels and company picnic in summer.

    Cons

    Management
This place is a sinking ship. Can't get its act together after all these years
There are managers without people to manage and the ones that have people don't know what they're doing

I worked at Intematix full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are some really great people working at this company.

    Cons

Too top heavy in management. You need to have been an employee at Bridgelux or Phillips Lumileds to be considered of value to management.
The CEO clearly does not consider the employees important to the organization. He does not walk around and talk to them. He stays in his office. When he does come out, it's a 50/50 chance you will be acknowledged. He rarely communicates to the employees, even when important announcements come out.
Benefits are the pits. You pay too much in co-insurance. No 401k match. No tuition reimbursement. This wouldn't be so bad, if it was a great place to work, but it's not.
Workload is too heavy, need more workers to do the work.

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring so many directors & VP, especially in sales & marketing. You need more workers to do the work, not directors. Pay attention to the business, not just the sales. Quality of the product is inconsistent. Sell on value, quality & relationship, not just price. Take the time to listen to the employees. Get all the facts before jumping into "fixing" things.

I worked at Intematix full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Worked with some very bright people in R&D. Company events every month or so. My boss was cool until he left. His replacement, not so much.

    Cons

The company was not growing in revenue and actually going the opposite direction. Lots of lay-offs. It was quite top-heavy, but eventually the lay-offs took care of that.

    Advice to Management

Find a way to build up revenue and change with the market. Learn from mishaps.
