More Pros and Cons

  1. "A typical company. Lots of potential and good people, lots of legacy corporate politics. Management is slowly improving."

    Pros

It's pretty stable. As economies go up and down, there are always reasons to teleconference.

    Cons

Management recently got rid of some toxic leadership, and is steadily improving, but they still have work to do.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your people. Balking at training tells them you don't value them, and robs you of skills, loyalty, morale, and reputation.

Treat your people as if you believe they are worth what you pay them. Make them proud to be there.

You fail at this, horribly. Every person should *expect* a week of dedicated, relevant classes every year, maybe twice a year, usually offsite. Nothing will improve your workforce retention and productivity more.

    I worked at InterCall part-time

    Pros

They feed you lunch sometimes, you meet great people. You get paid time off weather full time or part time although full time get more.
Pay is descent but should increase more when u move up

    Cons

Hard to get full time, its people that been there 10 years and still part time... very easy to get fired from there, you cant go to sleep you cant be late and dont you dare think about looking at your phone or getting on facebook, you will be terminated... you have supervisors that show favoritism also managers. All u do is sit there and listen to people talk all day.. setting up a call is easy when you get use to it but its even easier to make a mistake, which could cause you to be terminated. Hope you are not a student who works online, they block school sites so you can do home work. So basicly you sit on a call for 2-3 somethimes even 6 hours and dont do nothing, try not to fall asleep because they will fire you

    Advice to Management

Become a little lenient with the rules, you guys wonder why you have so many turnovers ? You fire peopl left and right. Promote the right people please, really acess the work they have done and dont promote because you know them

    Advice to Management

I worked at InterCall full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Easy to work when you don't want to learn something useful. You can pick up Hindi, Telugu, and broken English. You can keep your job for years as long as you don't conflict with junior managers and your colleagues.

    Cons

Incompetent senior management. Technologically backwards company. Harsh treatment of employees including pressure to give up your earned vacation time. Promotions are given to sycophants mostly. Multiculturalism is encouraged. Hypocrisy all over.

    Advice to Management

Get educated. Get rid of sycophant 'culture'. Introduce mandatory learning practices for each categories of employees and use gained knowledge in the company project plans.

    Pros

Things are fast paced and the clientele are amazing people for which tho do business.

    Cons

Management doesn't seem to understand the duties of their operators. Honestly, they are lazy and don't care about their employees. InterCall claims to have Global consistency, yet the facilities within Georgia aren't even consistent. There is very little room for growth within the company.

    Advice to Management

Learn the ins and outs of the companies for which you do business. After managing the same team for 10 years, you should have knowledge of the clientele. Treat everyone the same and quit picking favorites. A manager should never let something "slide" with one employee because they like them and write up another employee for doing the same thing. When there are multiple lines holding to get into a conference and staffing is limited, please put on a headset and help the operators. There are few members of management who actually do this. If the Senior Director can come out of his office and help pick up, why can't the rest of management. Laziness. The operators can easily get overwhelmed at the call volume and rely on management to assist instead of being on Facebook, Amazon or doing their Christmas shopping at their computers.

I have been working at InterCall full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

On the good days, this is an awesome place to work. Very lean, knowledgeable workforce, reasonable pay, reasonable benefits. Great people. Very down home southern feel to it. I feel like I make a difference.

    Cons

The politics can be challenging at times. Getting better recently, but still the typical good-old boy network. Too much finger pointing at the cost of productivity. Too much emphasis on trying to shoe-horn in canned solutions vs. creativity.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your people more. Certain management tend to lead by scare tactics and threats. That simply needs to stop. You employ professional people. Let them flex their noggins some.

I have been working at InterCall as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

Industry leading UCC technologies that have true relevance in todays market place.
Intercall makes strategic moves by integrating their conferencing platform with other leading UCC technologies with companies like Microsoft, Cisco, BlueJeans. ?. Etc Some really forward thinking individuals to work with. Decent internal global collaboration among product and sales teams.

    Cons

The company culture would greatly benefit by hiring experienced professionals as a whole.
And stop putting entry level college grads in roles that are responsible for very technical IT relationships. Its not fair to the account rep, the company or the client. Ramp up these bright individuals before putting them in technical driver seats. This will lower attrition at the very least.

    Advice to Management

Put great consideration into the above "con"!

    Pros

The hours offered are pretty good.

    Cons

pay is stagnant and unreasonable for expectations and opportunity for advancement is extremely low, no integrity

    Advice to Management

Have some integrity. Don't promise something and not deliver particularly when it comes to compensation. Almost runs like a good ole boy network. The people who have been there long enough to get management do not actually know how to manage or relate employees
