    Pros

Has been a great place to work and to create and improve

    Cons

As any big company in the engineering side some flows need to be updated, but that is constantly improving

    Pros

Room to be yourself encourages all employees to bring their best and most authentic self to work. This empowers employees to share a diversity of ideas and think through multitudes of possible solutions. Plus, it puts you in the direct path of amazing people!

    Cons

With so many high achievers, it can be a challenge to differentiate yourself as the over achiever you are.

    Advice to Management

    Open door policy

    Pros

The people are amazing - very much a familial atmosphere. Big brands with reasonable marketing dollars to pull off large national campaigns. Lots of branded swag and corporate events celebrating holidays, brand wins, etc.

    Cons

Overly-democratic decision making meant things move very slowly. Highly matrixed organization added to the slow decision making and the complexity.

I worked at InterContinental Hotels Group (Less than a year)

    Pros

You get a very good chance to network and interact with senior leadership. The corporate culture is very nice. Every employee is smart and highly talented. Their working environment is very nice.

    Cons

Very structured organization,so decisions don't get approved easily. The organization does not sponsor internationals so they hardly hire any international.

    Advice to Management

Management should welcome internationals to make the environment diverse. If organization can create a immigration department who will take care of sponsorship of internationals, then they can save a lot without paying to contracting firms for their consultants.

I have been working at InterContinental Hotels Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great culture overall. Friendly colleagues. Most people work together to 'do the right thing' for our hotels, guests and owners.

    Cons

Senior Leadership is disconnected from what is actually going on. The organization has gotten too big with too many overlaps in job responsibilities. I still think IHG is a good company, but it's not as good as it has been in years past.

    Advice to Management

Listen to band 5 and 6 employees. They really do know what is going on in the day to day. Saying that senior leadership is aligned over and over doesn't make it true - actually doing something to improve the current situation does.
