I worked at InterContinental Hotels Group as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Great people on the team, flexible hours, some perks

    Cons

Divide between full-time employees and contractors, management disrespectful, worked 40+/week but as a contractor was not able to be paid for OT

    Advice to Management

Improve on management and people skills, learn to treat women equally and fairly, close the gap between FTE and contract employees, nurture "team" environment

I worked at InterContinental Hotels Group full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

There's very little left of what was once a great company to work for. There are a few great leaders left, but not supported by the company.

    Cons

The company cares about the owners first and foremost. Employees are forgotten and a second or third thought always. The leadership for the Americas have absolutely no conn connection to to field, yo the people making it happen day in and day out. The could learn a lot from their predecessors, like Kinsel and Porter... they cared and connected. Bulley and Malouf can care less

    Advice to Management

    Connect with your people

I have been working at InterContinental Hotels Group as a contractor

    Pros

    Pay is decent for contractors.
They have some good company events.

    Cons

No direction, no processes in place, no structure, it is all just do it now with zero looking at support or future. Management knows the issues, but just pushes concerns to the side. Some people have been contractors for over 5 years and they would rather spend 6 months retraining someone than retain good talent.

    Advice to Management

Listen to workers about issues and act on them. So many contractors almost 70% in some departments and if a contractor has done a great job, hire them.

Barclay property has a poor leadership team and doesn't really appreciate the staff.

I worked at InterContinental Hotels Group (More than a year)

    Pros

    Fun (most times)
    Has some incentives
    Lots of moral boosters
    Discounts on rooms

    Cons

Not as flexible in scheduling as they'd like for you to be
Everything is based upon seniority (off days, work schedules, leave, and promotions)
No bonus opportunities or pay for yearly evaluations
    No raises
No time and a half for holidays worked just base pay if you are full time which is 8 hrs plus they hours on the clock you work that day.

    Advice to Management

Think more about your hourly employees than your salary.
    There
