I have been working at InterContinental Hotels Group part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I think one of the best reason to work at our hotel is the flexibility of how it works with my scheduled. Another reason is the ease of work that we do there, anyone can learn this job. It also pays better then most places starting out. The benefits of being able to stay at a hotel for cheaper then the actual price of a room is also a perk.

    Cons

The only problem is there is not much room for growth. Its a good place to start but is not something that someone can do forever.

    Advice to Management

I think that management should concentrate more on the employees life goals and current needs then telling them selves when are we going to have to hire someone new. I have worked hard for IHG for over a year and have not seen much gain. I have been able to make it by, but i feel like there isn't many take home benefits with the job. I think considering a bi-annual raise instead of a yearly one would be a good place to start.

    Pros

Room to be yourself encourages all employees to bring their best and most authentic self to work. This empowers employees to share a diversity of ideas and think through multitudes of possible solutions. Plus, it puts you in the direct path of amazing people!

    Cons

With so many high achievers, it can be a challenge to differentiate yourself as the over achiever you are.

I have been working at InterContinental Hotels Group full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great employer that practices what it preaches in terms of "Room for You". Good benefits, great work environment, opportunities for growth.

    Cons

Upper management has tended to change fairly regularly which has allowed the companies priorities to not be as focused as they should.
