    Pros

Work life balance, collaborative environment, fairly competitive pay

    Cons

Political, can be slow moving/inefficient and there are job overlaps

    Advice to Management

The company is starting to feel less people focused than in years past and stress seems to be a little higher than it used to among more employees

    Pros

Not busy and is an easy place to learn in the hospitality industry. Will train and understand trials while doing so.

    Cons

Hires illegally. Does not comply to California safety laws. And encourages drinking of alcohol while working. Not safe at all.

    Advice to Management

    Watch your employees

I have been working at InterContinental Hotels Group (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There aren't many left these days. This once was a great company that cared about its people, but this is, saddly, no longer the case. Corp. is a complete disaster

    Cons

There are way too many these days to name. The complete loss of touch and care for the field, the actual part of the business that makes money, is beyond disappointing. Only care about the bottom line these days

    Advice to Management

Get a grip. Stop only caring about the bottom line and keeping owners happy and start caring about your employees again. Your actually did once upon a time

    Pros

They are good about making sure you are payed on time but that's all.

    Cons

Lack on wages, gratitude, and most of all taking care of your employees. Not really good benefits. And match to your 401k and health benefits are to high and pay is to low.

    Advice to Management

Ya'll could recognize the employee's that are being there on time and pay the ones who have been been in the company along time and put forth the effort to show your appreciation to the ones who work in the company. .

I worked at InterContinental Hotels Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The hotel travel discount benefits as usual while working for a hotel company.
Depending on the franchise, advancing and being promoted if lucky.

    Cons

The PMS system and how it is configured. Yes, this is not just an IHG issue but OPERA is horrible! #1 using a mouse for your entire shift hurts your wrist over time and good luck with OJI
#2 the way IHG wants to configure OPERA to work makes the job worse! How many steps to do just one thing?
#3 the new security enhancements are not better but worse. VERY worse! Yes credit cards are security and sensitive information. We as employees are restricted from using or viewing CC #'s when dealing with guests. From swiping credit cards to entering them in manually for credit card authorization forms, this is so frustrating now.
#4 the pay at some hotels is lower than a bad joke!

    Advice to Management

Wake up! What are you doing? Do you even think about the processes that you are implementing?!
