    Pros

Interactions is a very unique company with a highly differentiated technology offering in customer care. When positioned correctly, the solution is extremely disruptive adding tremendous value to the enterprise. In the emerging AI space, the company has a unique approach coupled with IP that has the potential to continue to acquire significant marketshare on top of an already impressive customer base. While many... legacy competitors are struggling to advance the technology to the next level, Interactions is consistently demonstrating the capacity break into uncharted territory for natural language understanding. Specific to sales professionals, the earnings potential is tremendous as deal sizes are large. The directors demonstrating the ability to manage and position strategic sales campaigns are constantly rising to the top.

    Cons

The buying cycles associated with the deals can be outright brutal oftentimes taking more than a year to close. In addition, many representatives struggle to position the product properly resulting in an acquisition process that marginalizes business value leading to a non-competitive offering. As a result, the company has experienced sales turnover from representatives growing impatient, losing the will to see... deals through to fruition.

    Advice to Management

The AI marketplace is going to continue to grow in size and competition. It's imperative the company continues to invest and stay focused on areas that make us remarkable expanding our value proposition in the industry. It's very easy to get caught up in the latest craze and look backwards at the competition. Furthermore, we need propel our message to the next level not resting on accomplishments from the past. Our... customers will consistently demand more.

    Pros

Benefits for this size company are great. Wish there were more pros.

    Cons

Weirdest software company ever. Absolutely no culture. None. Amazing how much funding they have received given the lack of a true, packaged solution. Revolving door of sales people. More than 30 in the last 3 years. Only 2 people have made their number over that span. Compensation plan is terrible outside of base. Commission rates paid out over time. Inept leadership. Outside of raising money and building a... shell-game of a software company, they are clueless. Micro-management of reps and activity. Public berating of reps. Zero experience selling big-boy enterprise software deals. It is no wonder 95% of reps leave in less than 12mo.

    Pros

The company has made an effort to develop an on-boarding program with a professional trainer. The incredibly high turnover is likely the compelling reason they have invested in this area.

    Cons

Interactions was without question the most chaotic sales environment I have worked in. The actual structure of the sales organization is counter to what 98% of software companies employ today; Example being; Vertical VP's are not tasked to manage and become 100% vested in each sales director's sales success. The Vertical VP is expected to mentor and coach, but at the end of the day the Vertical VP is expected to... close large deals. A complete conflict of interest in my view. The bottom line is, the Vertical VP needs to focus on their pipeline. It's Not their fault, the flawed structure produces the behavior. Net/Net:The Sales Director is left to "figure it out" from A-Z. The sale rep/manager bond NEVER exists at Interactions, that is probably the biggest miss from senior leadership. A real bond is typically built between the manager and the sales rep, including buffering the sales rep from Senior Leadership. At Interactions, it is clear that Senior Leadership has a very negative view of a sales executive. The irony is that the CEO spoke of culture early on as being special at Interactions. Not true.

    Advice to Management

Create a traditional sales & marketing organization including: VP of Sales and Vertical VP's who only manage their Sales Directors. The structure would allow a "roll up" of pipeline and forecast activity to reach the COO and CEO, but it is provided by the VP of Sales.

I have been working at Interactions

    Pros

    - Free soda and coffee - Free Parking - Decent building in rural suburb - What more can I say to get to 20 words?

    Cons

-No strategic vision. -Core offering is Human Powered IVR which does not scale or meet business cases. -Sales Management exists only in title- Sales run by COO who has only one quarter view of the market and should have retired years ago. -CEO is nice guy who is no visionary and has no clue of what to do with this company. -AT&T Watson purchase put more burden on the company than adding definable revenue.

    Advice to Management

Put the $60 million in funding you just got into Mutual funds and get a better return for your investors.

    Pros

The people are nice. It is like sinking boat everyone knows that it is sinking and there is no reason to be mean to each other. They overpay to get good talent but there is no money to be made if your in sales.

    Cons

Everything: the comp. plan sucks, management is horrible, and you are not given the chance to be successful. Once you start showing success Sr. Management will take your accounts and pipeline away. This has happened to several Enterprise Sales Directors. Everyone talks a good game, the product does not work and the customer are not happy.

    Advice to Management

Hire new management or sell the company. The CEO is not present and when he is he comes across as aloof. If you are an investor ask for your money back. This a pure sell off.
