    Pros

Amazing work environment. The people here obviously care about everyone within the company, not just the upper echelons of management. It's a wonderful place to work and it really shows how much the employees care about what they do and really believe in the product they support, however indirect the role might be.

    Cons

Being a new company, it is experiencing a few growing pains of finding the right place for people within the company and allocating all resources to the most appropriate locations, but those issues are being overcome on a daily basis.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work and never stop believing in your employees.

    Pros

Interesting product space, good co-workers. Overall this is a very interesting space to be in. VOIP realy is the future of telephony, ININ is one of the leaders in that space. If you like systems-level programming this is neat stuff.

    Cons

It's in Indianapolis. If you like the midwest then it's great. If you don't then it's like living in a crazy religous version of america that I thought only existed in tv and movies.

    Advice to Management

Overall management is good, but tend to switch priorities and projects wildly. Sometimes you need patience for things to bear fruit.

    Pros

    >Incredibly flat organization with very accessible senior management.
    >Great colleagues who are always quick to lend a hand and share their experience.
    >State-of-the-art technology that continues to push the envelope for contact centers and business communications.
    >Many, many long-term, devoted employees.
    >CEO is a visionary who continues to effectively steer the company towards success.

    Cons

    >A bit of operational silos create some inefficiencies.
    >Indianapolis-centric development core means it can sometimes be challenging to find sufficient quantities of top-shelf talent.

    Advice to Management

    >Don't let future growth water down the great community that has been created.
    >Find a way to uncouple the development team from Indy, freeing us up for growth.

    Pros

The company is an extremely cool place to work. It has unbelievable technology and gives its employees the opportunity to gain all sorts of marketable skills. The executive leadership is among the best in the technology industry. You get the sense that employees really matter and that the company is run by people with a true sense of ethics.

    Cons

Most positions require that you live in Indianapolis

    Advice to Management

Don't lose the culture as you grow

    Pros

As an intern, I was given a lot of freedom in my work. When I needed help my team members we available to sit down with me and help me through my problems. Very friendly environment. Annual pool party at CEO's house and other such events.

    Cons

Most employees are from really small colleges. They are very good at their jobs but they would be average elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you're doing.

    Pros

    Not your typical Testing Department.

Department is separate from Development and reports directly to the CEO.

Top Management understands how important the Testing process is for this type of product to be successful.

Very complex software (localized in many languages, redundant, distributed systems, with 0 downtime.) but incredibly robust and scalable.

Always lots of new features being developed.

Testing is given time to write testcases and ensure that automation is there to back up the changes.

Performance Engineers and Developers in the Testing Department make scalability tools to stress and surpass the limits before it is recommend to customers.

Excellent access to resources (Servers, Manpower, Software, Training, Contacts with other High tech organization, etc.)

Products are not pushed out the door until they are ready.

Test Engineers have access to so many technologies that they become extremely valuable and knowledgeable in a shorter period of time. Most of the Testing team is at the Admin level on many products out side of what Interactive Intelligence makes.

    Engineer driven company.

    Cons

If you don’t like to learn new things this isn’t the place for you.

    Advice to Management

Keep it the way it is.

I have been working at Interactive Intelligence full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Working here was a great opportunity as it provided everyone a fair learning opportunity for growth and development. I had little background on the technology here, but was still given the opportunity to learn and make decisions.

Promotions seem to be different from many other companies with fast growth for individuals.

    Cons

There could be some better organization and management of different teams as some do not seem to have set standards and solid practices. There are gaps of information and a lot of self learning that must be done to be successful but without much guidance or direction at times.

    Pros

A great product with really smart people behind it. People like to work here, they want to be here and it shows in their attitude, enthusiasm and drive . It all comes together to make a positive, high energy environment.

    Cons

After almost 13 years I can honestly say that there are no Cons. It's a fun, challenging environment that pushes everyone to do their best. It's also a supportive, close group of people that care about their team members. We all work hard but balance is important and not forgotten.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

    - Teamwork opportunities are something to look forward to
    - Each employee has there own office, no cube farms here

    Pros

Modern work environment. Individuals are hired because they show their potential and are self starters, they are given challenging work, and allowed to pursue their solutions (within reason). Young company with loads of potential for growth and development

    Cons

Insane workload, no signs of slowing down, simply cant hire enough people fast enough.

    Advice to Management

Allow for controlled growth that is manageable and sustainable over time. Over zealous companies and people tend to do themselves in.
