I worked at Interamerican Medical Center (More than 5 years)

    Pros

You get one hour of lunch.

    Cons

low salary, no raises, no benefits, laid off without warning. Worked at IMC part time for 5.5 years and didn't get a raise in the last four. Your only shot at success in this company is if your parents own a share of the company or if you sleep with the bosses.

    Advice to Management

If you're going to lay off your employees at least let them know a week in advance.

I worked at Interamerican Medical Center as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

family environment with a early 20th century management by fear environment. This was a company that was pro-employees, and in some ways it is still that way today, although the new ownership simply fails at management and overall people skills. The past IT department was in-sync with its member base and the mission to serve, however, that is not the case after last year's purchase of the organization by Comvest.

    Cons

Executive management is not aware and actually ignores what the real problems are in the field. Operational, this company fails with a large F grade. Their seems to be a huge gap between management and the staff , as management is not knowledgeable as to the patient demographic and the market that IMC Health serves.

    Advice to Management

Dear executive management, you purchased a company that was profitable and you destroyed it completely, along with the careers of those that made this company possible. Your IT department is completely incompetent and it shows. Management is about leading and praising, not about castigation and blaming the other person. Moral is at an all time low and it shows, past employees are extremely discontent and it shows. Your executive management team lacks professionalism and the moral fiber to lead fairly.

    Pros

no one is really on top of you

    Cons

No growth, No trust, and pretty much completely ignored by Administrators and Directors.

    Advice to Management

Stop seeking who is the fault and work on being a team player, stop growing from only the referral department others need an opportunity to grow.

    Pros

Good company to start up if you are a manager because the pay is good. family oriented environment.

    Cons

Good company to start up if you are in managerial but there is no growth opportunity. everyone from the cleaning staff to the referrals coordinators get paid the same thing $10 and there is always a raise freeze. completely unorganized and unprofessional corporate staff. Patients are extremely rude. insurance companies pay for a specific medication and the company tells the patients that they can only get generics. most of the employees are very lazy, unethical and poorly trained. the company doesnt make it about the paients, its all about wherever they can save a dollar

I worked at Interamerican Medical Center (Less than a year)

    Pros

Family environment when you meet the people who are similar to you

    Cons

Very unorganized, unfortunately is not really about the patients as much as they say they are.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees as you do your investors. That is why the best and oldest people in this company have left or been laid off, instead of hiring new, young, inexperienced and underpaid workers.

I worked at Interamerican Medical Center full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

IMC has good benefits for their employees. Staff enjoys working with latest equipment. They have a good educational assistance program.

    Cons

Very negative managerial atmosphere felt by all disciplines and many patients. Staff knowledge of inappropriate use of managerial power, and dishonest practices. I would not recommend IMC over any other hospital to persons looking for employment.

    Advice to Management

Corporate goals and ideals are out of touch with hospitals. realism for staff. Corporate and hospital staff must become better connected. The process of corporate > hospital management > staff does not work. Unfortunately some of the dishonest of hospital management have moved to corporate and are not trusted. This is harsh, but very true. This is a problem of great magnitude, but if accomplished the benefits would be amazing.

    Cons

The training needs some work. There is no consistency in the companies policy and procedures. Family owned business.

    Advice to Management

If employees were trained properly they would be more successful at being efficient and successful.
