    Pros

People are generally nice and diverse. Compensation packages (salary, bonus, and stocks) are great. Since the company is growing through acquisitions, you may experience good opportunities.

    Cons

Sometimes long hours can be expected since the company is fast-growing. Some benefits and policies may need to get improved or added to match with big companies.

"Systemically important, high-tech financial service provider, focused on growth"

I worked at Intercontinental Exchange full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Progressive, entrepreneurial culture, dynamic environment, young employee base, systemically important with international reach and impact (offices in NYC, Chicago, Palo Alto, Atlanta, London, Singapore, Brazil). The recent acquisitions of NYSE Euronex is indicative of the strength of the organization and its ability to compete in a crowded market. ICE has been well positioned and will continue to benefit from increased regulations that push for more exchange traded and cleared financial products (introducing clearing for OTC products, offering futures alternative and providing electronic trading platforms). Its ability to take on the industry is largely driven by its entrepreneurial approach, the superior quality of its technological solutions and the penetrating market insight of its key staff. The organization works closely with many key market players and service providers, offering some high visibility career paths, with exposure to IDBs, FCMs, hedge funds, data and technology vendors. ICE also has a good work/life balance with ample vacation, options for telecommuting and normal hours for the financial sector. While there are times when one is expected to put in the sweat equity, those contributions are highly regarded and well compensated.

    Cons

ICE is still facing growing pains as it enters uncharted territories of new markets and services. Yet, it's nimble enough to shift resources and priorities based on rapidly changing regulatory and client landscape. Most of its products are heavily regulated and work can be burdened by frequent audits and compliance requirements - as a publicly traded company ICE answers to shareholders and as a systemically important institution it has heavy reporting requirements to SEC, CFTC,'the Fed', FSA and EC to name a few.

    Advice to Management

ICE will benefit from better key employee retention policies - with more competitive compensation (with emphasis on equity), clear career planning and opportunities for growth within the organization.

I worked at Intercontinental Exchange full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I found that the was ICE is an awesome place to work. They only hire senior seasoned technical staff which fosters an environment that brings out the best in everyone.

    Cons

It's difficult for me to find anything negative to say so I will mention that working from home is generally not allowed. My commute took on average 1-1.5 hours each way every day. No fun.

I have been working at Intercontinental Exchange full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The building is very modern. All glass walls. Breakfast pantry with snacks, coffee, tea. Good benefits, everyone gets stock offered that vests over 3 years. Compliance can be interesting at times. You can learn a lot about the various levels of the trading world. Great hours, good people. Good place to have on your resume. Company runs lean and mean.

    Cons

The work can get boring. Not very challenging. They don't pay as well as a fund, bank or FCM would. Upper management doesn't pay much attention to Regulation staff because it's not a profit center.

    Advice to Management

You will not be able to retain talented and bright people in the department without paying them properly. Doing a lot of great things though.

I have been working at Intercontinental Exchange full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

ICE is a fast pace company full of hardworking, talented, and dedicated people. Sitting next a crew like this challenges me everyday which is what I enjoy most about working here.

    Cons

The company is currently going through some growing pains as the NYSE integration continues. This is resulting in new processes, some of which are for the better, but not all.

    Advice to Management

As the company grows maintaining the entrepreneurial sprit that got us here will be tough to maintain, we need to find new ways to promote that culture.

    Pros

Lots of talent, compensation is excellent, and benefits are not bad.

    Cons

Moto is "lean and mean" so headcount is kept to a minimum.
