I have been working at Interline Brands full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of upside potential for growth.

    Cons

Very low leadership development. Very low investment in people, systems, and capabilities. Zero culture and little work/life balance for middle and senior management.

I worked at Interline Brands full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great food in the cafeteria, but you will gain weight here.

    Cons

When I was new I was given a list of accounts to care for that I found out later were everyone else's rejects. They were high maintenance and low profit and cut into my selling time significantly, which I was later reprimanded for. Very dumb management with regard to that. I also discovered later that the "favorites" get all of the incoming leads, instead of them being distributed fairly. I was warned by a long-time customer that reps rarely last more than two years. I believe it's because they want to churn everyone out so they can make profitable accounts house accounts and ultimately not have to pay commission on them. When they decide they need to cut back in staff, the method is to try to fabricate offenses that would not qualify you for unemployment compensation, or to try to intimidate you into quitting. Fortunately for myself I was too smart for these games and came out on top. Beware of getting really really screwed here.

    Advice to Management

    Quit being such incredible jerks.

I worked at Interline Brands full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Very high income potential. A tremendous amount of resources across all lines of business. Great opportunity to be a consultant to become a truly 'One Stop Shop'. The opportunity for success is still dependent on your efforts, as challenging as that may be!

    Cons

You cannot fit an AmSan/JanPak circle into a THD square. Too many outside variables of which you have absolutely no control.

    Advice to Management

Get out of the 'Eiffel Tower', pull your boot straps up, actively be a 'helpmate' or a 'coach' for Outside Sales. GET OFF THE SIDELINES AND INTO THE GAME !!

I have been working at Interline Brands full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great people. Some of the nicest and smartest people I've worked with. Schedules are fairly flexible and there is always someone nearby to assist or teach.

    Cons

Unfortunately, they have little voice when it comes to making smart changes. This is a very top down organization and the top is often disconnected from the bottom. However, things seem to be changing slowly for the better. Time will tell.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. They have great ideas.

    Pros

Great place to start a career. A position can open you up to challenges you will face in any corporate company, with a small company vibe.

    Cons

    Parking is difficult.
Management can generate a 'my way or the highway' type attitude.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Great company with lots of resources to provide products for customers. Lot of information on the customers they service.

    Cons

Replaced a Territory Manager with the company that had been there 20 years plus. Felt like the sacrificial lamb. Competition acknowledged how good Wilmar was, but the sales goals were not realistic and the territory was too large to be practical in visiting all the clients.
