I have been working at Interline Brands full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Home Depot has bought the company, so that name recognition immediately wants customer to work with you. The base has been grown. Also there are no calls after 5. Paid hourly, which is very nice

    Cons

Wish there was room to make more commission. They give you a great base pay so that there is little room for commission

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing. Remain engaged with the reps and listen to the concerns. Upper management has come down and always listened to issues that we may have had

    Pros

Great people here and there yet lacked cohesion and synergy. Now that HD Supply is in charge and Grebe is out, I believe you will see an improvement in the company across the board.

    Cons

CEO Grebe's focus on prepping the company for sale meant that a lot was swept under the proverbial rug leaving the company without a strong foundation and streamlined processes. I feel bad for HD to jump in when all IBI employees who realized what was going on, have jumped out.

    Advice to Management

You are going to need to start at the bottom and clean up and from there move upwards. Synergy and collaboration needs to be put into place to motivate and gain momentum. Otherwise, the products, customers and supply chain are in place - a house cleaning is in order.

    Pros

Great place to work. Even better after the Home Depot purchase the company, great to have all the support and structure that the Home Depot has brought to the table.

    Cons

They do not keep up with the cost-of-living, minimal raises on performance reviews once a year. Less than 2%. Other than that I'm really not many complaints, lots of time in the air.

    Advice to Management

Review cost-of-living when your employees are not being compensated for the work you're needing, especially when they do above and beyond year round .

I worked at Interline Brands full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Since Home Depot took over They have great benefits, and generous with paid time off, also good bonuses. Externally care for their employees and offer great programs

    Cons

Internally they have very bad management, no communication and the manager doesn't like to hire within or promote seasoned employees for better and challenging opportunities. They also favor certain employees treat them better. seem to have a circle of who they like and recognize despite how good they work or not. Just the work environment was so negative, worked long hours and no appreciation. Some try to take the initiative and stay late to fulfill the mission, then they expect you to keep staying late with no thank you for staying or helping, then you ask to leave they get upset. Turnover is very high and they cant keep employees also they are very relaxed. Employees do what they want want ie take long breaks and call out frequently with no reprimand . There is no teamwork some employees do their minimum and leave and the others have to absorb their work.

    Advice to Management

Even though you're the manager and have the final say, you should try to listen to advice from employees your way isn't always the best, try to get their input. Stop putting profit over people, a happy employee is a great employee. Try to promote within get a leader or supervisor with better knowledge and know the employees better and can run the department with better results than inexperienced from the outside. Make it more a team atmosphere to

    Cons

Interline Brands was recently purchased by Home Depot, experiencing some growing pains at the moment. Nothing I don't think will be fixed with time.
