    Pros

My coworkers are great. Everyone gets along with each other and everyone is very friendly. The pay is pretty good as well. New hires start at 12 an hour, 13 if you work second or third shift.

    Cons

Management doesn't listen to you. We have meetings every day that are a complete waste of time. They will ask our opinions of things and never do anything about them. They implemented an us vs them mentality between the shifts and now want us to work together. There is also a lot of favoritism towards rrc. The male managers will also cater towards the female pickers more so than the male workers. It's all workplace politics.

    Out of Touch

    Pros

Excellent marketing tools ,catalogs, Product knowledge training, information on reports, sales numbers, good bunch of people in field sales, excellent potential if they listen to some feedback from field sales and treat them right. Just purchased by The Home Depot , Bright future if the Home Depot takes the time to also listen to the field level and not just Managers or Corporate. In transition , be careful and ask questions

    Cons

Information overload with paperwork , reports, customer parts searches, custom catalogs, shop maintenance details paperwork, and CRM expectations but no time out of field allowed to do so. Expect to spend 60 plus hours working a week and maybe not even make your budget due to Corporate blinders on certain demographics and inability to attain national clients that effects the bottom line field sales. This industry unfortunately relys on major national contracts or field sales spend alot of time in vain

    Pros

Great food in the cafeteria, but you will gain weight here.

    Cons

When I was new I was given a list of accounts to care for that I found out later were everyone else's rejects. They were high maintenance and low profit and cut into my selling time significantly, which I was later reprimanded for. Very dumb management with regard to that. I also discovered later that the "favorites" get all of the incoming leads, instead of them being distributed fairly. I was warned by a long-time customer that reps rarely last more than two years. I believe it's because they want to churn everyone out so they can make profitable accounts house accounts and ultimately not have to pay commission on them. When they decide they need to cut back in staff, the method is to try to fabricate offenses that would not qualify you for unemployment compensation, or to try to intimidate you into quitting. Fortunately for myself I was too smart for these games and came out on top. Beware of getting really really screwed here.

    Pros

good place to work if they changed it back to a regular warehouse it would be more enjoyable

    Cons

they always talk about satisfying the customer, buy we have so many mistakes now since they changed things around. I don't know how that is satisfying the customer.

Mediocre place to work. Just don't plan on any promotions.

    Pros

You can make decent money in a relatively low stress job.

    Cons

Very political. They change directions all the time. The company grew much too fast in a very short period of time. Because of this they haven't been able to really keep a handle on their day to day business. They might look good to investors (public and private) because of their multiple "brands", but in reality they all compete against each other driving down the bottom line. Management is generally lacking and currently they have a great deal of long term employees/managers who are leaving due to ridiculous changes within the organization. They have lost touch with what made them a rising in the MRO distribution field long ago.

    Pros

Great place to work. Even better after the Home Depot purchase the company, great to have all the support and structure that the Home Depot has brought to the table.

    Cons

They do not keep up with the cost-of-living, minimal raises on performance reviews once a year. Less than 2%. Other than that I'm really not many complaints, lots of time in the air.

    Pros

Home Depot has bought the company, so that name recognition immediately wants customer to work with you. The base has been grown. Also there are no calls after 5. Paid hourly, which is very nice

    Cons

Wish there was room to make more commission. They give you a great base pay so that there is little room for commission

Rapid growing company still experiencing growing pains

    Pros

The # 1 Pro is my co-workers, self-driven passionate employees. Experts in the field, a large number of tenured employees. Independent work environment. Fairly easy to move within the company to other departments. Flexible vacation days and time off. Sales and merchandising/ product management departments have the highest salaries.

    Cons

Lack of personnel resources. Disconnect between expectations and reality of work load. Executives lack of management direction. Growth opportunities for upper management have ceased with down economy. Low employee appreciation, generates low morale. Lack of processes, so you are left to figure things out on your own. Upper management are work-aholics, working at all times.

    Pros

Great compensation compared to other business in the local community Work Family balance Team work Knowledgeable upper management who were not afraid to share their knowledge

    Cons

There is a great deal of work to do, but delegation to lower level employees who have the brain and talent and education is not utilized as it should be. Some employees are left floundering.
