Pros
I love my job as a postpartum nurse at inter. The organization throughout Intermountain is superior to other hospitals around the area and they have great benefits.
Cons
None that I can think of right now
- Current Employee★★★★★
Pros
Great pay and benefit. Growth opportunity
Cons
Gossiping between employees and leaders

Intermountain healthcare
Jan 9, 2017 - Clinical Informatics Analyst in Murray, UTRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great benefits including a pension as well as 401k if you decide to work for them for many years. I feel valued in many ways I did not in previous positions!
Cons
Mormon and conservative, white, heteronormative cultural aspects can be a drain for minorities and non-mormons. The organization is so big that it can be easy to feel overlooked; which may or may not be a pro actually.

Intermountain is one of the best!

They have great benefits and strive to provide excellent healthcare to the community.
Cons
HR can be very unforgiving on late continued education.

Great company to work for

The benefits are great and they take pride in their patients
Cons
Working in the nutritional department is awful. The managers and supervisors don't have any idea how to run their areas. You have two options 1. Suck up to them and get favorite treatment. 2. Stand up for what is right and get punished eternally. When you go on vacation, prepare to be punished by working overtime when you get back.

Managers believe employees are sheep

The benefits at IHC are great; that's the extent of the good things.
Cons
The lack of leadership is staggering. "Managers/Supervisors/Lead people" don't listen to employees and they think they can go off and create totally new processes without any feedback from the employees. There is an expectation that the management can do no wrong and all the employees will just bend to the will of the latest and greatest fiasco.

Pros
Great benefit of being able to change jobs and still be working for the same company. ..this your benefits don't change
Cons
Compensation sends to be less than some of the other competitors in the area, and even the smaller businesses
- Current Employee, more than 1 year★★★★★
Pros
Great benefits package and starting salary. They really care about employees and their work life balance.
Cons
A lot of employees so most things are standardized and not personalized to you.
- Current Employee, more than 3 years★★★★★
Pros
Great Benefits and a company that is looking at for the community. Managers are very focused on their employees and making sure they are taken care of.
Cons
Due to being not for profit pay does not always compare in similar positions, and being a part of healthcare bonuses and pay increases are very effected by recent government moves. Upward mobility is possible, but you have to network a lot and be extremely aggressive.

An amazing organization to work for.

Intermountain has a lot going for it. Excellent management, team spirit, a great sense of community, pushing employees for personal growth. Also it is pretty easy to get time off and they offer great benefits.
Cons
The pay could be higher. But they do offer raises pretty frequently for those that deserve it. They require a lot of training. Almost too much. And they often have unrealistic expectations.
