This union is great. It offers competitive wages, free health care that is really amazing, and retirement benefits all paid for by the contractor.

The system this union works on is a booking system. If you are out of work, you sign the book and take a number. I love the system, but wish we could have an app that works with every local and and every ticket holding electrician. With fuel prices rising, and the use of 21st century technology, I think it is such a waste of time and money to drive around aimlessly searching for a job. These current ideas are being held onto by the "old timer" mentality. Also with the growing use of unions, we organize a lot of inexperienced people who claim to have a lot of electrical knowledge to get the premium pay with minimum skills.
