I have been working at International Flavors & Fragrances full-time

    Pros

Hours are great, work to personal life balance is well rounded, pay is good, if you’re good at what you do you’ll advance when positions are available.

    Cons

If you’re on an off shift in the production side of the business it might take a very long time to get into a day shift position. Hard workers are sometimes overlooked and don’t get the raises they deserve.

    Advice to Management

Make it a point to get to know the people under you and how much they actually do for their respective departments. If they’re killing themselves increasing productivity beyond the norm then recognize it and reward them.

I have been working at International Flavors & Fragrances full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

    Benefits and compensation are good.

    Cons

I realllllly want to stay at this company, however management is horrible. They are catty, and speak so badly about their employees right in front of you. No training, no trust, and no interest in setting you up for success. Its so toxic, I cry weekly. I want to believe all departments aren’t like mine, but I haven’t seen a stable one yet.

    Advice to Management

Create an atmosphere that you would want to be part of. Be kind to your employees. And follow HR practices. If they had any clue what you guys do when they aren’t around you would be fired.

I worked at International Flavors & Fragrances full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

My R and D job at IFF (and I believe this is not just my experience) was interesting and dynamic. I had plenty of opportunities to learn about different parts of the company and get involved in projects that impact different parts of the business. Innovative research is the rule, not an exception. Most people manage to maintain a good work-life balance (although many top performers work much more than 40 hours) ...

    Cons

Career growth occurs slowly and often depends on the number of years worked rather than performance. Once your manager puts in for a promotion, you will wait for a year or longer before it gets approved. Salary growth is also slow -- so make sure to use a good fact-based source (h1bdata.info) when negotiating.

I have been working at International Flavors & Fragrances full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Decent benefits All talent is leaving so you'll get a job easily here

    Cons

-Most departments riddled with SEVERELY unqualified people -As mentioned by other employees, managers can get away with ANYTHING -Senior leadership is out of touch -Benefits are slowly eroding -Lower pay compared to industry

    Advice to Management

You can at least pretend that Senior Management isn't hovering above the rest of the company. Raise compensation to something a little more respectable. Stop using intimidation as a means to enforce company policies. Get with the times (most R&D will know what I mean).
