    Pros

Great colleagues - intelligent, capable and collaborative; excellent products; stock doing well

    Cons

Older employees are not valued and advanced. Don't bother applying if you are older than 40.

    Advice to Management

Get aligned & don"t change initiatives and programs every time new management comes in

    Pros

There really are some stellar people at this company. The products are interesting and it's fascinating to see and learn how things that you consume everyday are produced.

    Cons

The management team needs to wake up or just go! It's clear that the Executive Leadership team is dysfunctional and doesn't get along. The tension trickles down to the teams. In addition, it's very much an "ivory tower" culture. Those at the top don't deign to interact with those in the trenches, and if they do, it's certainly not genuine.

    Advice to Management

Learn to treat employees with respect. Just because you have "EVP" or "Chief" in your title doesn't make you any better than anyone else, despite what you may think. Lose the arrogance and outward disdain for your employees.

I worked at International Flavors & Fragrances full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Outstanding salary and benefits, free fragrance samples, pretty good catered food, summer hours, generous vacation time/PTO, tons of informational meetings to learn more about the company, looks great on your resume.

    Cons

Terrible holier than thou management culture, no clear opportunities for growth, pass the buck attitude, horrible communication amongst the different departments.

    Advice to Management

Not sure if it's the stereotype about French people walking around with their noses up or not, but management indeed walks around on invisible pedestals as though anyone below them isn't worthy of conversation. There should be more positive exchanges between the higher ups and lower level employees. That might aid in fostering a more enjoyable work environment and help boost the retention rate.

I have been working at International Flavors & Fragrances full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people that you interact with are mostly warm and friendly, almost too friendly, salary is good and benefits are good.

    Cons

Management is irresponsible and lacking in leadership, more like a mafia enterprise than an enterprise. Promotions are made based on who sucks up rather than who is good enough. Totally controlled by Wall Street, no employee growth.

    Advice to Management

Clean up house and yourselves as well to fix it!

    Pros

Temping is a great way to get into the company, and once you're in they have a good work/life balance, and benefits.

    Cons

They will allow you to temp for forever. I personally have been temping for almost a year, and know that most people who work here started as temps. Hearing that people were temps for a year, 18 months, even two years is not uncommon.

    Pros

The US employees are extremely nice, benefits are good

    Cons

Their practices and procedures are antiquated. No accountability, proper people are not placed in management positions

    Advice to Management

You can make so much more money if you did a corporate audit to reduce redundancies and institute best practices.
