    Pros

Great Company - large but family feel -
Don't listen to what former people say (who were let go) it is a good place and they do care about the employees. Pay better then the last ownership and were able to weed bad workers out!

    Cons

    No at this time -

    Advice to Management

People get into mgt jobs because they are truly good and not just given like at other companies

I worked at International Flavors & Fragrances full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The flavor capabilities were amazing. The technology and resources for new product development were outstanding. Loved the sensory capabilities, and crossfunctional teams that I worked with. Got to do a little bit of business travel, but not too much.

    Cons

The small group/office politics really got old. Especially if you didn't want to play the game, and just stick to business.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your people. There are so many opportunities within the company, that you shouldn't loose talent to competition, unless you really want the person out.

I worked at International Flavors & Fragrances full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Pay scale and benefits were great. Fellow employees felt like family. The location I was at was definitely a team environment where every one had input into the overall outcome of production.

    Cons

I had opportunities for some advancement but it was definitely limited. Early in my tenure at this company, training was a big deal. As time moved forward that became less and less until it was only a very minor % that received any training.

I worked at International Flavors & Fragrances as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Wide variety of interesting work opportunities that had a positive long term impact. The work I did here definitely helped me with having things to discuss in interviews later on. Also had lots of hands on experience with excel and SAP.

    Cons

There was a lot of downtime between projects. While my projects all had an impact, there would also be days with nothing to do, but read.

    Advice to Management

Cross functional use of the co-ops seemed to work well for everyone. I suggest encouraging more of that.

I worked at International Flavors & Fragrances as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Never felt like "the intern" here- had lunch with all the senior process engineers on a regular basis and was treated like a real person. Got assigned a very real project, not busy work.

    Cons

Project was too large to complete in internship timeframe: wish I could have seen it from start to finish. Lab work was monotonous at times, but it's part of the job.

    Advice to Management

Try to encourage interns to get to know each other. Had a few good events; the program has a lot of potential.

I worked at International Flavors & Fragrances as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Got to work with numbers on a large, corporate scale
    - Manager was very nice
    - Pay was decent
    - Worked when it was convenient for me
    - Always smelled great

    Cons

    - Easy to get lost (because there are so many people and because the building is quite confusing)
    - Instructions can be unclear
    - Didn't like the atmosphere (lots of swearing in the office)

    Advice to Management

Make sure managers are more than just nice.
