I worked at International Paper as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Not any pros to share

    Cons

Disorganized, Politics before professionalism, self-gratifying management

    Advice to Management

Take care of the company not your position

I have been working at International Paper full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I don't really see many things to keep employees happy at this company. Pay is decent, but a huge lack of honesty is present in the staff.

    Cons

Lack of confidentiality when something is presented to HR, the entire mill finds out about it, and the insurance isn't good at all. It's actually much cheaper to go without insurance and just pay bills out of pocket for routine visits. For instance, blood work with insurance I owe 590.00$ and without presenting insurance my bill was 150.00$

    Pros

Starting pay is ok ok I guess.... I think it should be alot higher especially if your stacking or a stacker......

    Cons

People act like after 3 weeks you should be all caught up and near perfect.
    Very cliqueie...
been here a month and been asked to stay over so much already........
Management is good at walking around and hazing you.... I haven't see n a supervisor sweat once

    Advice to Management

Training could Be ALOT SLOWER AND MORE IN-DEPTh....
and asking someone who hasn't bee here but a .month... to start working 12s .... then to just post it on a board that I DIDN'T EVEN K OW EXSISTED........

I have been working at International Paper full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The only good reason to work here is, there is no accountability for anything. You screw up, you get promoted, or laterally moved.

    Cons

Give you more work with less resources. Rewards mediocre management with promotions. Weak management at the top. Have a focus on "Think the Customer", but completely forgets the folks that get the work done!

I worked at International Paper full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Health insurance. 401k match.

    Cons

Bad management. No work/life balance, it's a lie. Company on its last leg. Bad management decisions such as not wanting to fix machines, then they break, and they end up taking holidays away from employees, making them work. Bad environment. Will tell you plant is making $ but it's a lie. Only has a few months to turn around or it will be shut down. New management is bullying and harassing. Doesn't care about employees, only about his results.

    Advice to Management

Tell the truth. Fix the machines. They break down and then take away weekends and holidays from employees.

I worked at International Paper full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The pay is good, the business is logical, making boxes

    Cons

sneaky tactics when comes to following guidelines in break reliefs, responsibility sharing when mistakes are made, "BLAME THE LITTLE GUY"

    Advice to Management

find where the problems stem from, supervisors sleeping on job, watching movies during production or not on the floor at all, allowing bad product to go through and then letting someone else take blame, "work as a team" "fall as a team" "fix the problem as a team" " don't take easy route"

    Pros

Definitely room for growth within this company

    Cons

There is one group in GFS that i really thought was racist. There were no diverse compared to the other groups. The group stood out and was known as the racist group.

    Advice to Management

    More diverse.

    Pros

Like all companies it has pros

    Cons

And like all companies it has cons

    Advice to Management

Stop eliminating positions and then rehire for the same positions a few months later.

I have been working at International Paper full-time

    Pros

    It pays the bills

    Cons

NO work life balance company doesn't seem to care about fixing anuthing... masking tape seems to be all they know how to work with.

    Advice to Management

Talk to the employees who actually do the work. Realize that not only the people that sit in the offices have families too. Six days a week of working not spending any time with family is unhealthy. Don't have everyone clean up for your bosses to come visit when none of us are you. Any other time

I worked at International Paper full-time

    Pros

Great place to work if you're willing to work hard you will have a great career there and moving up is easy as long as you put in the effort and care about you're work.

    Cons

They brought in new management at fox valley aurora and they were a disaster until the day I was let go, worked my but off for 5 years and left with nothing I felt. Showed up 10 mins late to work my first time ever showing up late to work and machine was down and I was let go.. I had one point for missing a punch even thought I know I punched in.. My dad was in a car accident and I left 2 hours early on a Saturday and got a point.. Moral of what all I'm saying it has great perks and great environment to work for, but you're managers and supervisors do not have you're back when times are tough.

    Advice to Management

I would look into the management at fox valley Aurora , great workers great facility they deserve to be treated fairly and rewarded.
