I worked at International Paper full-time

    Pros

Good pay, decent benefits, union job protection. Advancement is based on seniority. A very good training program is in place.

    Cons

Long hours, rotating shifts, injuries on the job. Advancement is based on seniority. No holiday pay. No incentive to come to work or perform.

    Advice to Management

My advice to management would be to hire more Foremen and supervisors from older hourly employees rather than from a senior class at a college. Experience means more than education at a factory.
