    Strong Company Facing Tough Transitions

Aug 4, 2021 - Senior Manager in Memphis, TN

    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Focus on safety as a core value. I think the company is sincerely looking to improve in diversity and inclusion and other ways, it's just going very slowly. Good salary for region. Most people are long tenured and really care about each other and the company's success. The training is more than most companies offer these days and is a good set of tools.

    Cons

No work life balance. Change is often actively resisted and risk avoidance/status quo is often rewarded. Lots of middle and upper layers of management - difficult to get even simple things done amongst all of the partial owners.

    It’s a job

Jul 18, 2021 - Utility Operator in Savannah, GA

    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

12 hr shifts are like having a part time job. Work life balance isn’t to bad except for the guys on the top end being forced to work open shifts because of the old guys retiring and leave of absence. Pay is good you train and set up usually two jobs above your base job. The work is repetitive and challenging mentally and physically sometimes, but also very chill when things are running smoothly.

    Cons

Cooperate and management favoritism. If you don’t fit into their cult like mold you will never rise above being just an operator. Selective discipline measures, some people are untouchable while others get fired soon as they look at someone the wrong way. To further that point they refuse to fire deadweight and make the good operators carry the load. Cooperate refuses to give hourly raise to operations for the last 6 years but gives maintenance whatever they want. Just raised the bottom rate this month which helps no one because we certify on the first job tier within months of being hired. So minus tue utter moronic decisions made on the top end it’s a good place for a career.

Great Benefits, Old School Corporate life style.

Aug 18, 2021 - IT Helpdesk Analyst in Memphis, TN

    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Great Benefits and great salary. Room for growth in the company if you make the right connections. If you work hard you will learn a lot in this position. The trainers are very dedicated to the team. IP offers a lot of free courses and certifications.

    Cons

The helpdesk functions like a call center. Team leads are only focused on metrics and not helping employees grow in their careers. Military-style mindset vs work-life balance.

    Great company

May 6, 2021 - Financial Analyst in Memphis, TN

    Pros

Good pay for people just starting out. This company also has many unique opportunities and they give a lot back to the communities where the plants/mills are. Amazing work/life balance.

    Cons

HR is atrocious across the board. I've never received a prompt email back from them. I've always had to follow up multiple times. There will be problems almost every month end close that nobody knows what to do with. Training for new hires could be better.
