I worked at International Spy Museum (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great team environment, fun at work, many different posts so there is POTENTIAL for a varied shift, Unray Headen is a delight.

    Cons

Jobs can get repetitive, because more likely than not, one or two posts will be repeated several times a day. tours can be tedious with guests that don't take it seriously. Not very much room for growth. Promotions are mostly friends of current managers.

    Advice to Management

Find your stellar employees and promote them, not your friends. Two friends as the managers, don't make team members feel supported or properly managed and good employees feel snubbed.

    Pros

Management does a lot to make the job fun and they treat people fairly and well. People who work at the Spy Museum care a lot about the company. If you are interested in history, that makes it an even better place to work. There are added bonuses of lots of media coverage, celebrity visits, etc

    Cons

If you work on the front line you have to deal with the occasional cranky or crazy guest.

    Pros

    Excellent boss, coworkers, environment, challenges

    Cons

Weather sometimes erratic, frequent metro-closings can make commuting into the city a nightmare.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work! Never stop challenging us!

It is a great place to work, fast-paced and team oriented, with a good location and nice people.

    Cons

There is not much room for any career opportunities.

The management needs some improvements in the area of communication.

I have been working at International Spy Museum full-time

    Pros

People are wonderful--executive staff cares that all employees have a great experience working here, from salaried staff on down. Busy work environment, never know what to expect from day to day (or hour to hour). Well-paying fora museum.

    Cons

Close-knit staff = a fair amount of drama across the board.

there were a few minor complaints but overall a great company to work for, especially if you're a theater major. job can get repetitive but still fun. coworkers and management is like a dysfunctional family.

    Cons

hours are cut during off season. not much room for growth

I worked at International Spy Museum part-time

    Pros

Good pay, cool people, meet former intelligence workers.

    Cons

A lot of underlying drama in retail department. Only department to seem to have that problem. Puts you in a lot of no win situations.

    Advice to Management

As with most jobs, favoritism is not the way to go.
