I have been working at Internet Brands full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Young employees (mostly), nice view of LAX, nice facilities.

    Cons

Low pay, high turnover. This is a workplace targeting fresh out of college graduates eager to learn and work hard for low pay, hence high turn over rates.

I worked at Internet Brands full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good experience as a recent graduate. Plenty of experience to see inner workings and ability to wear several hats. Think of it as paid internship.

    Cons

Low Pay. No Performance Review - Career Trajectory. Yearly raise is not mandatory and is less about a dollar. Think of it as a sweat shot for the world wide web.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate good talent and invest in your employees. HR is overworked and overwhelmed, will pretend to listen. Try to encourage innovation and creativity.

I have been working at Internet Brands full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good for learning on-the-job experience , coffee bean in bottom of building, pleasant employees, decent benefits and close to lots of food options.

    Cons

Pay sucks, no innovation because everyone leaves for a better-paying position before their big project for improvement was ever completed, and then it's passed on to the next person to take over and the cycle begins again....

    Advice to Management

Pay people a decent wage and you won't be as much of a churn and burn company.

I have been working at Internet Brands full-time

    Pros

    1. This company is well-known, so it's good to have on your resume.
    2. It's a good place to learn quickly, but only because your workload will be borderline intolerable
    3. You probably won't get fired unless you're grossly incompetent. Sometimes not even then, based on who I work with.

    Cons

1a. My first month, I saw 2 people pass out in the office due to stress and need to have an ambulance called for them.
1b. Salaries the company should be ashamed of
    2. No 401k match
    3. Expensive health insurance
    4. Extremely high turnover
    5. Incompetent HR team
    6. You'll be overworked and underpaid
    7. Poor management. Managers will tell you you're doing a good job to your face, then talk about the quality of your work behind your back.
    8. Most boring websites I've ever seen in my life
    9. People get raises by getting offers elsewhere and trying to get a counter-offer from IB. Meritocracy isn't a thing here.
    10. Worst culture I've ever seen. People won't even look you in the eye as they walk past you in the hallway because they're so unhappy at work.
    11. Lazy co-workers who don't care at all about their jobs, and who will consequently make your job harder
    12. Everyone is always interviewing, and open about the fact that they want to leave.

    Advice to Management

Management doesn't care, so, instead, here are some tips for potential future employees.

    Work here only if:

    1. This is your first job out of college and you can afford to make $28K/yr for the experience
    2. You're trying to break into a field that's challenging to get into
    3. You only plan to work here for a year
    4. You have low-self esteem and don't think you can do any better

    Don't work here if:

    1. You want a fun culture. The employees here are either fresh out of college or older and just plain weird. People don't really hang out with each other because everyone is looking to leave.
    2. You have any experience in your field
    3. You're used to having any kind of perks: free snacks, swag, happy hours
    4. You don't hate yourself

I worked at Internet Brands full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Casual dress code.
Proximity to LAX (i.e. cheap ubers if you are going out of town for the weekend).

    Cons

    Below Market Wages.
    No 401k Match.
Pretty high turnover, especially in operational roles.
Probably the worst HR department I ever encountered.
Recruiters are happy because they "closed" a candidate, knowing how bad the reputation for the company is, and how low the wages are.
Very outdated processes, especially for a digital company.
    Sales rarely has competent support.
Vending machines and no free snacks ( I would walk downstairs to buy granola bars, because I didn't feel like contributing to the company bottom line).
Facilities personnel is pretty bad, cheap cheap cheap!
The phrase "IB Way" is thrown around quite a bit by employees, effectively referring to anything that's not operating the way it's supposed, or complete lack of investment into an area of need.... 'Well, that's the IB Way"

    Advice to Management

Without a winning culture, you will never be a winning company.

I worked at Internet Brands full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Not much, outside of casual dress code, I suppose

    Cons

    Below average pay.
    No 401k match.
    No real upward mobility opportunities.
    High turnover.
Horrible HR department, with 0 accountability, and somehow in charge of all salaries and associated raises, without ever directly working with other departments (i.e. manager can recommend a raise, and HR can flat out say no).
Constant errors (especially with HR, and payroll).
Horrible company culture - unless you are in senior management role, you are probably using this job to look for other jobs. Everyone openly talks about leaving the company.

    Advice to Management

Get your "stuff" together, and start treating employees well. There is a reason why this company has a 3.0 on Glassdor, and everyone wants to leave.

    Pros

Work location is good and colleagues are very friendly.

    Cons

    Can end the job anytime.

    Advice to Management

Do not expect a lot of experience from an entry level person. He/She came out with very little knowledge and seeks some guidance.

I worked at Internet Brands as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

I'll structure this reviewed based on the Department of Labor's Six-Part Test:
1.) The internship must be for the benefit of the intern.
Yes, every chance to pitch, draft e-mails to media, and general pitching was great experience to add to one's portfolio.

2.) The intern must not displace regular employees and must work under close supervision of existing staff.
Worked extremely close with the PR manager and the CMO. Great experience to learn how to interact with high execs in a corporate environment.

3.) The employer gets no immediate advantage from the intern’s work—and may, on occasion, find its operations impeded by the internship.
Half-true, obviously the good work you do benefits the company and brand's reputation overall however, my supervisor was always happy to answer any questions I had!

4.) Both employer and intern understand that the intern is not entitled to wages for time spent in the internship.
Was paid hourly. I was really fortunate to not have to balance a second part-time job with school.

    Cons

5.)The internship must be similar to training that would be provided in an educational environment.
50/50 on this but overall you will get a great foundation for in-house experience. This is simply due to the nature of corporate environments.

6.)The intern is not necessarily entitled to a job once the internship ends.
Unfortunately not, but this is a great company to work for.

    Advice to Management

I think HR very well knows but high turnover is prevalent here. Most people use their time and experience at IB to transfer to either higher paying positions or a more glamorous company.
