    Pros

Internews is a place of wonderful corporate culture and a home of people with incredible talent and great drive. Schedules are flexible and work/life balance is often prioritized. There is an authentic enthusiasm for the work and staff is encouraged to learn and innovate.

    Cons

Internews is a very flat organization. It is difficult to grow professionally and at times, leadership plays favorites.

    Advice to Management

Create opportunity for growth for junior staff.

I have been working at Internews Network full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

My experience with Internews is from the business admin side. It is a very well-run nonprofit organization that has grown considerably in the last decade and continues to evolve and expand in exciting ways! As an employee, you will work with people all over the map working on all kinds of interesting projects. Everyone in the organization I have worked with so far has been friendly, professional, and effective at what they do.

    Cons

Because it is a nonprofit, many jobs with Internews are highly funding-dependent, which is not ideal if you are looking for job security. It is also worth keeping in mind that it can be a demanding and fast-paced work environment, which is energizing for some people but might be draining for others.

    Advice to Management

Most of the employees I have met at Internews tend to be workaholics. One suggestion might be to think about how to foster better work-life balance for employees.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Dynamic, meeting many people, interesting topics, work with the youth and inspiring young people, mentoring

    Cons

Low salary, long work hours, unequal treatment of employees, management incapable of solving problems or offering any advice, discrimination based on gender and nationality, management easily manipulated by certain employees, harassment at work without any improvement even after reporting to management, four people left the project due to harassment- two of them were seeking for psychological help, no chance for travel and progress, employees asked to do personal shopping for management, management not capable of providing a timely reference after the expiry of the project thus employees miss out on opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Management is expected to solve problems and not to swipe them under the rug. Good managers show you how to do things, bad managers tell you how to do things. When discrimination and harassment are reported-react timely and adequately.
