Not a Great Place for Employees
Jan 19, 2022 - IT Director in Cupertino, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
• Occasional BBQ's and office level events • Annual Kick Off Party • Most of the employees are nice • If the company does good you might get a bonus • Most of the Office Managers are relatively nice • HQ Teams can be close
Cons
• Office events are agent-centric - I avoided them as they just turned into more work for me and I never actually got to enjoy them • The annual "Kick Off" party is agent-centric as well. Same results as the office events where I'd just end up working rather than relaxing and enjoying myself • Ability to WFH depends on how well you’re like - Obviously some positions cant be done from home, but, there are plenty that can and employees are not allowed to work from home simply to appease the CEO • Benefits are relatively expensive and not good at all • Rampant employee gaslighting - raising concerns about being mistreated will return comments such as "dont take it personal" and "thats just the way he/she is" • Toxicity - gossiping, backstabbing, and finger pointing is common • No REAL benefits or perks for being an employee - the "best" employee benefit I can think of is for some of the federal holidays you might get off a couple hours early the day preceding a holiday. Previous CEO's would let employees go at noon the day before a holiday but the current CEO feels this negatively impacts sales agents so he cut it to 2 hours • Lack of a work life balance - cant emphasize this enough • Too much oversight and meddling from parent company • Low Pay rates vs similar companies in the same area • Lack of accountability • Exclusion of employees • Hypocrisy from leadership • Lack of recognition of accomplishment and/or personal sacrifices • Little to no training for employees • Small staff/dept sizes • Constant micromanagement • Absentee, copy/paste CEO who inspires no change and uses too many "back in my water polo days" analogies

Cons

Incredible opportunity to support a dedicated Realtor and help clients accomplish their housing goals in the Bay Area.
Jul 9, 2014 - Executive Assistant in Cupertino, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Realtor was extremely compassionate and encouraging. Work responsibilities were clear and well-communicated. Realtor exemplified incredible customer-service practices in her interactions with clients. I was able to gain an excellent sense that my work was directly helping meet the needs of those in my community. I was able to clearly recognize that my efforts were making a positive impact in the lives of others.
Cons
Saturated real estate market makes it difficult to identify and connect with clients that we can help. As such, commission-based pay and work-hour demands were extremely unpredictable. Work-life balance was challenging, due to unpredictable needs and schedules of clients. Position was also location-based in an area with an extremely high cost of living.
