I worked at Interstate Hotels & Resorts full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Cool benefits for booking rooms and hotels for yourself, friends, and relatives. OK holiday parties. That's it.

    Cons

Low pay. Long hours. The management at remote properties are really weird, too. If you're late for over 3 minutes, you get written up. They use out-dated technology so expect to use a slow computer. It's very difficult to move along with projects because management tends to take the cheaper way and it results in a more stressful environment because you're working with non-enterprise equipment. IT is understaffed, so expect to do a lot more than your own responsibilities. And if you're not in IT, expect to get your issue resolved next week. Everyone tries to throw tickets on one another, eventually taking it forever to get resolved. Turn over is very high, obviously. Also, if you want a promotion, your best bet is to hope the guy/girl above you gets fired or moves to a different location.

    Advice to Management

Stop micro-managing everything and listen to your team who specialize in certain fields that you have very little knowledge in.
