I have been working at Interstate Hotels & Resorts full-time

    Pros

Nice people with several brands across the world

    Cons

Company lacks vision and is very traditional with regards to it's benefits and policies. Also, they should just focus on smaller limited service hotels and stay away from large big box convention properties. Large convention hotels need corporate mandates and vision to be properly managed, Interstate does not meet expectations in this regard.

    Advice to Management

Leave the big hotels to the big dogs.

There is a serious lack of dedication at the location I worked for, not to say this is for every location. But it was very hard to get things done due to the bureaucracy

    Pros

    Co workers are amazing!

    Cons

When management talks down to you and belittles employees in a not so private setting. Constantly asks for you to go above and beyond and you always do, do other jobs to help them out, always puts the company first and don't seem to get paid enough.

    Advice to Management

Learn to listen to the workers. Figure out what you can change to help keep employees from looking elsewhere. The turn around rate is high...very high. Figure out what can be done or what can be changed so employees don't leave. We love this company and want it to thrive and be the best....let us help make it that way. Don't get so defensive and accept positive criticism.
