I worked at Intertec Consulting full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They hire very talented and experienced Project Mangers who do not need to be managed.

    Cons

No chance for advancement, no raises, very expensive medical and dental benefits and not great coverage. Very poor support staff, it was hard to get any questions answered in a timely manner. Starting wages could be much more competitive. PTO could be much better.

    Advice to Management

Better wages, more competitive benefits, employee improvement plan (not just lip service)

"This is a staffing company, NOT a consulting firm!!"

I worked at Intertec Consulting full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

If they have contracts/projects with a client, then it is a good way to learn about that company's internal processes and build your network. You're gonna need it!

    Cons

This is a staffing company, NOT a consulting firm!! They will give you the feeling that you are joining an elite team of consultants working on unique projects at fortune 500 corporations. However, this is just a way for them to lure you in. There are some good people working for them, and most of them are there while they are "actively" looking for a REAL job elsewhere. Most of the employees are based out of Costa Rica, i.e. cheaper resources and you get what you pay for. Intertec is trying to compete with other IT consulting firms from India, and failing miserably.

P.S: The employee benefit plan is worst than what you would get when working at a minimum wage job.

    Advice to Management

Don't lie to your employees on the stability of their job and your company. It's better to hire resources on contracts rather than hiring them "full-time" and laying them off in 4 months just because you lost a contract with your client.

If the company wants to establish their brand as a consulting firm, try to invest in employee training and retention plan.

Don't promise what you can't deliver!

"They work hard to get you placed, but their communication skills are terrible."

    Pros

The Account Managers are great at keeping you informed while trying to get you placed.

    Cons

Once you're placed, they fall off the face of the earth and you can never reach them, nor do they reach out to you for anything. They don't acknowledge your existance at all, not your Account Manager, or any of the Office Staff. It takes multiple calls and emails before they get back to you to answer any questions. They also don't contact you before your contract ends and makes no attempt to place you anywhere else, or assists with your off-boarding. Once you're gone, they don't communicate anything about your final pay or if anything needs to be done on your end.

    Advice to Management

Retrain your employees on how to respect and communicate with the people they're placing. It's your bread and butter.

    Pros

Intertec has there name out there and provides Consultants to some big Companies that are doing SAP Deployments around the world.

    Cons

I would say one of the negatives is not getting any feedback on job performance. I don't know if they are getting any feedback from the clients but that would be nice. Also, more communication/planning when coming near an end date of a contract.
