I have been working at Intrado full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Business is solid and opportunities are continuing to develop, Senior management is actively engaged in refining and clarifying vision and actively aligning execution with vision and strategy. Senior management is openly working toward greater transparency, team building and public reflection that is leading to more powerful and cohesive teamwork and execution. Individual contributors are constantly provided... opportunities to develop, lead, take risks and learn. Front-line accountability is the norm. Role clarity is continually increasing. Formal education opportunities, focused on skills and behaviors, are actively being refined, expanded and communicated. Financial and other compensation is robust and broadly based.

    Cons

There are lingering challenges from a history of rapid expansion and "hands-on" problem solving: Leadership at many levels is still overcoming a tendency towards hands-on firefighting Prioritization and focus, to reduce task switching and resource overload, is not yet the norm There is a significant legacy of "silo" thinking, in organization structure, tools and processes, that inhibits efficiency and... responsiveness. There are substantial opportunities to improve internal communications systems

    Advice to Management

Stay the course. The increased and publicly visible focus on deliberate planning, quantifying value, transparent self assessment and risk taking are key to empowering employees at all levels to continue to be open, transparent and take on knowledge based leadership that is in the best interest of the company.

I have been working at Intrado full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

People. There are truly some very bright and thoughtful team members at West that could do great things with real strategic direction. Some managers are very flexible allowing for work/life balance.

    Cons

Reorg, of the reorg, of the reorg. Too much thoughtless change as leaders make their constant power plays. Change is good, but chaos is not. The best talent bailing. Selling everything we don't have. Placing the load of technical debt on client engagement and front line teams. Senior leadership not present. Unstable platforms, lacking robust architecture. No raises, no opportunities to grow. Constant layoffs.

    Advice to Management

Less top down management and more servant leadership. Figure out what you want to be and then become excellent at it. Stop the culture that is enabling bullying by sales teams. Less talk and more action. Finish just one thing.

I have been working at Intrado full-time

    Pros

Good place to work and has great people who help you grow. You can decide on whether to be complacent on what you do or go beyond what you started.

    Cons

There are some gaps in roles on who does what and sometimes or many times it can be the cause of all problems. Some team leads and account managers can be micromanaging peers even though it may not be their responsibility again going back to the issue of lack of role clarity. Benefits is not that great at all, insurance costs are very high compared to other employers in the city.

    Advice to Management

Wish the new management has more facetime with its employees and also be transparent with what's coming in terms of merit increases, layoffs, terminations etc.

I worked at Intrado full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good Co Workers, Good location on 4th street live... uhmmm nothing else comes to mind.

    Cons

As a project manager, the work load was Un real, customers were mean and nasty, management was horrible, it was all about the MRCs..I had over 20 customers, each customer would have any where from 5 to 30 locations, installing circuits, phones, trainers...all at the same time.. and then there were the locations in Mexico, we had no idea what we were doing there, totally unchartered waters.. which caused major issues... for those customers...If u took any time off you still had to work, no one else had the time to help pick up your work load... nothing but a sweat shop!.. Run, fast!!.. RUN!!

    Advice to Management

share some of the wealth, a cost of living raise would be nice, trim some of the dead weight from the top. Hire additional resources, it would have been nice to have had the time to go to the rest room.
