    Pros

The people are what makes this company successful. Working at Intrawest is truly having a 2nd family. I have worked at Intrawest for 10+ years through the good times and the bad just like a marriage and those employees that are committed to the organization make it what it is. The ski industry is a sexy one but if you don't have the customer service to back it up then it will fail. Visit any of our resorts and you will see our employees love what they do and want to ensure that visitors have a great experience.

    Cons

We are subject to Mother nature so we may have bad years and have to cut costs but that is the nature of the business.

    Advice to Management

Communication is key. Upper management needs to remember that the little people are what keep this company going and updating them on the direction is very important.

    Pros

Never boring, great environment, interesting people, grand locations. And I do have to say they really provide good benefits. And a lot of diferrant types of jobs.

    Cons

Because, it is a big company with a lot of employees. It can be hard to find team work among all the different departments.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the grand work by providing a safe and friendly workplace. And welcoming a lot of growth in the company. Thank you.

    Pros

Interesting indusry, Nice co-workers, Nice office, Fun daytrips for work

    Cons

Boys club at the top with a relatively rotating door, Act like they are a non-conformist ski industry company when in fact they are most concerned with spreadsheets and Wall Street funders

    Advice to Management

Be authentic, be honest and value people who give candid perspectives. Also diversify into non-bean counters and all guys at the top.

I worked at Intrawest full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Free ski pass, discounts for lodging, food and gear. Great location of corporate headquarters. Bill Jensen and Juan Perez are both great leaders with decent communication with employees.

    Cons

General Counsel is incompetent and uncommunicative. Often felt that employees are not appreciated. Especially those at resorts. Promotions are few and far between. Most managers have no managerial training and have no idea what to do with their employees.

    Advice to Management

Do the analysis before asking your employees to take 2 weeks of unpaid Mandatory Time Off.
