I absolutely love working for Intrepid USA. The company really gives their employees room to grow professionally. Most importantly, they give back just as much as you put in. This helps to keep me motivated and to better myself, my department, and the company as a whole.

With new leadership change as our CEO is fairly new, I see nothing but positive changes for the future. I definitely recommend Intrepid to someone that is looking for a long-term career in a company that will invest in you to grow as fast as it does for me!!

I worked at Intrepid USA (More than a year)

    Pros

Exceptionally motivated Administrative assistant locally and at corporate office in 2016 and a few competent and overworked employees functioning to hold up the entire house of cards.

    Cons

As a prior administrative / management employee of this company, I have first hand knowledge of the extremely dysfunctional home office operations of this company and i profess strongly as a witness to the abuses of this company. I have never worked for a company where only a few employees in upper management possessed the necessary knowledge. competency, and drive to smooth over and salvage the messes created by a largely inept, useless, and immoral home office staff. The majority of home office staff and especially payroll management operated in a criminal manner, denying wages for employees working overtime and holiday shifts, 'losing' or 'making mistakes' that were glaringly obvious and refusing to make corrections on employees payrolls on a weekly basis in the face of detailed evidence of negligence when presented weekly, day after day, repetitively and on behalf of employees, in several formats requested by home office. When threatened with reporting criminal financial practices, corporate payroll would grudgingly reimburse employees for wages earned, frequently taking months to make corrections and often dismissing any legally required corrections rather than issuing payment for corrections of wages when employees quit prior to corrections and reimbursements being made. Before i left, the company was implementing a new policy of refusing employees pay for hours worked if online corrections were not made by employees before the weekly deadlines for payroll with no option to be paid at a later date once last minute correction request were completed by staff... wages were just forfeited. The very day that Medicare and Medicaid permanent business licensure was granted for the branch where I was working 7 days a week as both the administrator and the only on call RN for over 6 months, after several recent run-ins with home office on behalf of myself and other staff regarding payrollwages earned but not issued, I was 'told that it wasn't working out and i was 'let go'. To tip it off, I was refused a W2 copy for the previous year in the following tax season and was forced to file with the IRS to obtain my tax information for filing. It is April 10th and I have not yet received that information for my State Tax Return filing.

    Advice to Management

Owners, take a closer look at your home office staff and have some type of process for assuring basic competency and legal compliance.

    Very good work/life balance opportunity.

    Cons

No real chance of career advancement, CEO keeps giving out leadership books but clearly hasn't read any.
No 401k matching and no direct deposit as 12/16 for Corporate

    Advice to Management

    Pros

    "Nice" people to be around
    Marketing materials
    Car allowance (not enough)
    There is mediocre health insurance
People recognize the name in most cases.

    Cons

Management Baits their territories against each other and it is not at all motivating.
You can't trust the smiling face or sweet accents because you turn your back and get a knife it.

    Advice to Management

Treat your people as you say you will. You "find a way" to pass someone on without a second thought. Look at your RDS because they will ruin your business and what looks like success to you on paper is not reality.

I worked at Intrepid USA (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Support staff are great. Used to be great but Hingis changed

    Cons

Stressful work environment with high turnover both locally and upper management. One person doing two to three jobs at a time. Upper management expecting field staff to manage and see patients for months on end. One supervisor for two branches and see patients and take call for 10 counties at a time. 500 mile radius at times. Patient safety in jeopardy due to under staffing! No management or administrator at times. Patients being refused due to no in network when referrals never being put into system to check accuracy! Denied referrals related to patient acuity and payment reimbursement! Marketing and upper management focus only on meeting quota even with limited staffing! After hour meeting unpaid with supervisors and support staff due to not meeting that quota. Administrator neglecting to take call to assist with burnout or sick staff. Taking call 2weeks in a row with no time off! Paid by visit rate with no extra pay for documentation! Work work work. No time for family. No active work life balance!

    Advice to Management

Step up and help your staff and give them adequate training before throwing them to the wolves!

I have been employed at Intrepid for a year in October 2016. After working primarily in a hospital based setting over the duration of the past ten years I ventured out for a bit of change. Our team has been part of some amazing volunteer activities. This quote speaks volumes - "A great place to work is one in which you trust the people you work for, have pride in what you do, and enjoy the people you work with.” — Robert Levering. Most recently I had the honor of meeting our new CEO Paul Foster and I can say Paul was extremely personable and informative. Paul listened to our concerns asked us for our input. We can only move up from here.

    Cons

Direct Deposit which I am told is coming in the near future.

I have been working at Intrepid USA full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Trying to think of any as I type this.

-in charge of and make your own schedule, but beware, even this is a downside, with the cancellations you have you cant and won't meet productivity
-constantly on the go and you aren't in one spot the entire time

    Cons

Man, where do I even begin?

I have tried to stick it out for as long as I can, but I can't handle it anymore !!!

-the constant traveling gets to be too much especially when you're wasting time, energy, gas, and wear and tear on your car to only have clients blow you off, cancel, or refuse to meet with you
    -mileage reimbursement is a joke
-it gets lonely out there by yourself
-they're only concerned for the census and money not their staff or clients
-the only opinion that matters, is there's
    -no 401k match
-no direct deposit and people who live further away, drive a ways just to get their checks, funny, when I asked why all they could say was "they didn't know" or "we just don't" who says that?
    -no overtime
-apparently they filed for bankruptcy in April 2014
-apparently you have to use PTO if you're not meeting 40 hours
-unqualified management in positions they have no business being in
-the management are bullies and if you don't do what they tell you, they write you up even after you've explained things are out of your control
-no concern for safety of employees whatsoever
-the amount of people who have left since I've been here: one supervisor and one co worker
-the amount of people who have left shortly before I started: 4
-new CEO recently since the last one just last year
-coworkers, supervisors, and clients alike will back stab you
-no one knows what they're doing

The best part? As I finished with a client one day, I was assaulted. In a dangerous area. They said it didn't happen during work hours so they couldn't do anything. i got absolutely no support whatsoever, not even time off to process and figure stuff out. No one asked me if I was okay, no one told me if there was a safety plan in place, and if there was, what happens, even when I asked.
Someone from the company went to get a public police report but no one even told me anything. They have no concern or regard for employee safety. I clearly expressed I never EVER want to go back to the place, especially that area again. They didn't give care, they still sent me back there. And then had the nerve to flip it on me and claim they told me I didn't have to go back there.

When I put in my notice, it wasn't even acknowledged until I asked them if they received it and said nothing other then they received it.

I am so fed up, especially after the incident that happened and got no support whatsoever. It is time for me to go. I would never ever recommend this company to anyone. Beware and save yourself the trouble!

There is no team work, culture, career opportunities, compensation, benefits, work or life balance whatsoever. Not worthy of even half a star.

    Advice to Management

Read above and get the hint.
-stop hiring unqualified people to fill positions they have no business doing
-the field supervisors are salaried?! And they don't even do their jobs half the time, and push it on everyone else
-take care of your employees and they will take care of you, the company, AND the clients
-the "we find a way" saying, is a bunch of crap

I worked at Intrepid USA full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Prior to new management, Intrepid was a wonderful place to work. Each agency was challenged and cared about what they were doing, but under new management, people are afraid that they will get a call or visit saying they're being let go or their job is eliminated

    Cons

Too much change, bringing in people with no HH experience (grocery stores, light bulbs, car parts have NOTHING to do with HH)

    Advice to Management
