I worked at Intuit full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Lots of very smart people who are very passionate about their work, their team and the state of the company
    - Higher level managers actually listen and are open to input regarding internal process changes.
    - Lots of social events to partake in (festivals, community outreach, yoga, etc.)
    - Free coffee and snacks, game room and gym to unwind

    Cons

    - The large number of smart people inevitably means ego's
    - Office closing and layoffs meant an impact on worker morale

    Advice to Management

Keep listening to employee input. Lower level managers need a strong mix of technical and management skills to help guide newer employees and help organize & direct teams

I worked at Intuit as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

    The culture is fantastic
    People are very smart
Very fast paced (if you like that)
They have a gym and activities planned during lunch

    Cons

The process is lacking in some areas
They hire a lot of contractors so there is a bit of confusion when you first start

    Advice to Management

Keep of the good work but try to touch base with your employees to see if there are any areas that need improvement

I have been working at Intuit full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Working at TurboTax you do have the ability to make a difference and put a stamp on the company. employers work together to at a fast pace to improve the company. There are good benefits to working like social events and that ability to volunteer and join Intuit culture teams. They invest time and money into their employees to improve there skillset and personal development. Management care about the company and want to make it an awesome company.

    Cons

Work/Life Balance is not available from December to June during tax season. Employers have left for other companies to establish a better work/life balance. As a company it does not move fast enough and change its processes and best practices to meet the needs of its employees (Meeting for Meetings)

    Advice to Management

Reduce the unecesary roadblocks and meeting to improve processes and best practices.

I have been working at Intuit full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Great teams that support each other locally and usually work well together
    - Great place to work with good benefits (i.e. health, dental, in-house gym, etc.)
    - Access to most of the tools you need to get your work done
    - Management is supportive of career growth and ask you what your aspirations are right when you get hired
    - Hiring process is efficient and you know right away whether or not you got the job

    Cons

    - Because it's a multinational company, sometimes it's hard to track down global counterparts since each region divides their teams differently
    - Again, because it's a multinational, sometimes it's hard to find the right internal databases/reports you need to get your job done

    Advice to Management

    - Continue to encourage collaboration amongst the global teams
    - Continue to encourage management to have skip levels
    - Consolidate reporting systems and databases when you can
    - Keep the regions outside of the US informed of changes to internal databases and reports

    Pros

    - Great atmosphere: work hard, play hard.... desire to make a difference
    - Opportunities to move across groups, depth and borders
    - Fast pace, with focus on test and learn, and delivering for customers
    - Love the local leaderships focus on innovation and vision for Intuit Canada

    Cons

    - Can be very intense during tax season for those in TurboTax or Profile Tax
    - Getting better, but can still be US centric on internal system releases and occasionally on product features

    Advice to Management

    - Would be great to see Canada develop even more offers for other countries
    - Launch offers in US and Canada, to speed up development for multiple countries

    Pros

Fun work environment, lots of perks, food, celebrations, nice people.

    Cons

Not enough support in terms of career path. You have to know what you want vs getting assistance on getting somewhere. Hands off management and feedback only when it's too late.

    Advice to Management

Stop drinking the koolaid and start investing in your staff happiness and development
