I have been working at Intuit full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Treats employees very well. In return, it drives me to be a better version of myself for Intuit. Awesome benefits. I work with amazing people who all have the same goal: success.

    Cons

    Cannot think of one con.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing. I appreciate everything. Loved the SOC this year.

I have been working at Intuit full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Strong company culture that emphasizes respect, collaboration, and innovation. Market leading benefits. Great work-life balance. Very skilled and helpful colleagues. Emphasis on employee development and long-term career growth. Fantastic ESPP program.

    Cons

Vacation policy is just average (15 days to start and it takes a long time of service to get more). Work from home policy is fairly flexible but varies by manager/department. Very hierarchical level system with large emphasis on higher levels (director and above) and chain-of-command style of thinking.

    Advice to Management

Let employees negotiate for more vacation (e.g. giving up some compensation).

I have been working at Intuit full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Leadership of Brad Smith
Truly make a difference in the world by helping small businesses

    Cons

    Too much tops down management
Recognition and promotion paths are confusing and can be unfair at times
Recognition is completely dependent on what projects you work on and your manager

    Advice to Management

Follow Brad Smith's principles of "employees first" in the org chain below. Seems like it never follows through as we go down the chain.

I have been working at Intuit full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

What sets Intuit apart is its innovation capabilities that is driven from within the org. Employees really matter at this company and leadership listens!

    Cons

When it’s time to move people around, give them a chance to bid on the projects they want to work on. Motivation will help to drive team performance.

    Advice to Management

When our vision changed, the work hasn’t. We need to re-prioritize work that closely aligns with our mission across all work streams.

I have been working at Intuit full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fantastic culture and work/life balance, great overall comp, nice facilities. Management seems very focused on doing good (providing economic prosperity) and not just making money. They have stated values and try hard to live by them. They are also very invested in people.

    Cons

I have heard that the seasonality of TurboTax makes working on that product more difficult from a lifestyle perspective than other products.

I have been working at Intuit full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Overall a wonderful place to work - mostly due to the people.

    Cons

As the company grows and focuses on being more nimble and growth (all necessary and important) - parts of the company are not doing this well. For example, focus on Agile Development teams, but asking Dev Managers to become scrum masters/project managers.

    Advice to Management

Take a good look at the Senior Leadership in the BU - and how people are truly being treated - not always in alignment with our values.

I have been working at Intuit full-time

    Pros

    Great, fun, smart co-workers
    Extremely customer focused organization
Challenging work in a growing organization

    Cons

A very consensus-driven culture, plus a lack of process in a large organization, makes it a lot of work to get everyone on board.

    Advice to Management

Keep building marketing capabilities in your employees. Keep the focus on customers, and great product will follow!
