I have been working at Intuit full-time

    Pros

Solid pipeline of innovation and growth, with lots of reason to be optimistic over the long-term.

Reasonable work-life balance, and lots of flexibility in terms of where and when the work gets done.

    Cons

Can be very conservative and risk-averse at times. More of a fast-follower than a breakthrough leader, which can be frustrating.

    Advice to Management

Keep the ship steered in the same direction, but loosen up a bit and embrace the opportunity to push the boundaries, even when it is uncomfortable.

I have been working at Intuit full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Outstanding leadership, strong values that are not just words, employees are taken care of.

    Cons

Internal mobility is non existent, open positions are 90% filled from outside.
A lot of middle management are not up to it, hired on the basis of a 3hr interview and clearly a lot of BS- fortunately bad hires are eventually sent on their way, but it takes a LONG time and causes considerable damage.

    Advice to Management

Don't take shortcuts. Be like Brad.

I worked at Intuit full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The best benefits of any company, great incentives, great coworkers .

    Cons

Communication and lack of qualified supervisors. Favoritism was a big issue when promoting within the unit.

    Advice to Management

A bored or unhappy employee is an unproductive employee. When an employee feels like they are hitting a brick wall in there career and they seek advice within their unit from management , management should take the time to help figure out a solution or the end result could be the loss of a very valuable employee

I have been working at Intuit as a contractor (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Friendly work environment, always learning from colleagues and being challenged to push boundaries, exciting work, great facilities, supportive of flexible hours/working from home if needed

    Cons

Limited in career growth, lack of career development conversations. While you are expected to be vested in the company and the works, just as much as a full time hire, the company is not as vested i you when you are a contractor. Full time hires in the same roles as contractors are more likely to be considered for promotions. Contractors tend to be more "stuck" in their positions longer and while promotions do happen, they are rare. I speak from own experience.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work of engaging your employees to stay close to customer and to always think outside the box. Allow contractors to have more visibility into the heavier work and let them show you how deserving they are of promotions as well. not all contractors want to be "stuck" in their roles. Because Intuit is a great company overall, contractor tend to want to stick around, even when not 100% content with their role - this may give a feeling that the company has the upper hand and its not worth trying.

I worked at Intuit full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Intuit has great benefit, they do 125% match for 401K, good perks like gym, a lot of free food, they're really good at business. Intuit provides tons of opportunity you can study new technology

    Cons

A lot of shift-change in the company, they're good at business but not good at technical. May not be good for a technical person.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing on you business, don't make Intuit as an Indian company because it's dominated by Indian people, diversity is important.
