I worked at Intuit full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I did not anticipate that working at Intuit within the QuickBooks Online devision would be such a challenging but rewarding learning experience. They are a large company but do their best to attend to their employees' first by creating an amazing standard for benefits to PTO. Other Pros include:
    Easy to manage internal resources.
    Adequate employee training and assesment
Great and Fair employee and manager review.
    Fair opportunities for advancement

    Cons

It is a large company that provides way too many releases for current customers to stomach.

    Advice to Management

Continue on with what you are doing but show a tad bit more humility in the process.

I worked at Intuit part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This was my first season working as a Tax Support Specialist. The Job itself is a little challenging at times, which was great for me. The 401K matches $1.25 per dollar you put in, even with a part-time schedule! You work in a team and every customer you talk to has the opportunity to give you a survey, as long as you delight the customer, you will likely get a good score at the end of season. The bonus is very nice, being about $1500 or more for part-time employee and is based of the surveys and calls per hour you can do. I loved how it was competitive, it motivated me to do my best. The manager I had was amazing, she even gave out a $500 gift card to an employee on our team by placing a contest on who could perform the best metrics. It was very motivational. I ended up recieving a $25 giftcard to RedLobster and $10 to Lowes. Also you get 1 hour of sick time for ever 30 hours you work. The pay is great. more than you would expect being customer service, although you work hard for it.

    Cons

Being on Video was sometimes tiring, having to keep a smiling face, although the customers did love it and often made comments on how cute I was. The schedule is kinda set in stone. I started as Fulltime and moved to Parttime. I ended up getting a scheudle that was mon-fri 9-1 est, which was great. however, you wont know what kind of schedule they will offer you and you only get to choose from 5 choices they send you in the email. If you are late to respond to the email, you could end up with a bad schedule. I liked that it was seasonal, but I sure did not want to leave once it ended. Being an at home job, was a little challenging trying to figure out questions for customers and reaching out to management. I did make friends in the chat room, but it would be nice to see my coworkers. I would rather work from home, so that is not necessarilly a con.

    Advice to Management

HR could be a little more better about communication and expectations of job duties/schedules. Full-time is a 9 hour shift with an hour unpaid break. It would be nice if they could make it a half-hour break as a choice.

I have been working at Intuit full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

It's a very home-style feeling. I think that one of the hiring requirements must be that we hire genuinely nice people, (smart & nice). Intuit is always trying to up its game and has its eyes on the future. Data science, conversational UI, and platform/ecosystem thinking are where we're headed. In my role, I have the freedom to identify problems, dream up solutions, and get to go make it happen. My career path has formed around me, based on how I have worked and how I hope to contribute. Love this place!!

    Cons

Not much relative to any other company...I think there can be at times, true opportunities to just blow up the traditional way of doing things, and just encourage speed to fail--w/o input from too many cooks. Can be a bit too much process at some times, but on the flip side, the processes have improved so much. A lot of the processes now anchor many solid ways of working.

    Advice to Management

Sometimes, clear the path to the fastest point of failure and/or success for employees. Recognize your entrepreneurs and future leaders. Incubate brand-new ideas, products, and incentivize them internally more. Start an internal VC fund to launch internal companies that Intuit could then internally buy back ala Google.

I worked at Intuit full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very good benefits and employee-centered culture. Surrounded by a lot of vey smart people. Access to cutting edge technology. Opportunities for tele-working.

    Cons

Company tends to change focus frequently, especially in regards to acquisitions. The downside to being so employee-centered is that it was very difficult to thin the herd of under-performing people.
