I worked at Intuit full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits, pay, very nice work facility and perks.

    Cons

One word: Leadership. The "heart" of Intuit is in Tucson - in other words the support for the company. In California where the company is headquartered the values of honesty, direct communication, and feedback are critical to the development of cutting edge software. These models are given lip service in support, but in reality the support organization is highly political and expects those lower in the chain to always support the concepts that people above them come up with - even if those concepts are flawed or wrong. This is to the point of people literally claiming things to be true that have been proven false. It's institutional Trumpism - and it occurs because under qualified people are hanging on for dear life to job titles they were lucky to obtain. This fear of failure leads to a culture of delusion, political backstabbing and downright fear. This review is based on Tucson Intuit only -- no idea what it's like in California or elsewhere with this company.

    Advice to Management

Hey middle management - tell the truth, admit when you're wrong, and try to be more like the innovators that run the company. Embrace the idea that in the software industry a fail isn't a fail if you learn from it and improve on the next iteration. Intuit is an amazing company that puts a lot of money towards it's employees - imagine what you could achieve in employee satisfaction levels if you were honest with yourself and each other? Also stop fudging your numbers at employee meetings - that's just insulting to everyone's intelligence.

    Pros

The focus is on bettering small businesses and every employee is encouraged to be the best they can be. Employees get paid time off to volunteer.

    Cons

It is a large company, so there is about a six month learning curve. All employees are more than willing to meet with you and answer your questions though.
