I have been working at Intuit full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Living, breathing values which permeate our projects, work, culture, and processes, helping to ensure a customer-first focused environment. And it's real...they REALLY do this...EVERYWHERE. It's pretty impressive!

    Cons

Intuit sets the bar HIGH, and as such, they look negatively on items that aren't really, really good (meaning we can still get better)...though are forgiving of mistakes as long as learning is taking place. However, our imperfections here are far better than some of the best in my previous employers.

    Advice to Management

Continue to push your teams for accountability, and help to improve your Change Management in terms of information dissemination, and really consider how to distribute news of change (which is constant with our fast company) to each of your teams of unique human beings. We want to support you, so ensure you give people time to digest things in order to do so.

    Company Culture is A++
Benefits are amazing, pay is great

    Cons

    Occasional lay offs

    Advice to Management

I worked at Intuit as a contractor (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Intuit was absolutely wonderful at training all employees to not only do their assigned position, they also offered additional resources to assist individuals who wanted to grow within the company & beyond.

    Cons

Only offered a temporary position for tax season

    Advice to Management

Everyone with or without a degree deserves the opportunity to prove their value.

clickish, no one listens, don't know any management above my immediate supervisor, management doesn't seem to care beyond immediate

    Advice to Management

talk to your employees in turbo tax even if they are seasonal give them a reason to think they matter

I have been working at Intuit as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great hiring and training procedures, clear expectations, good networking opportunities, volunteer options, internships, frequent employee recognition events/contests

    Cons

They're never totally transparent about the actual chances of getting a permanent position after season, maybe because they don't know; maybe because they want everyone to stay as long into season as possible

I have been working at Intuit as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Gym on-site, Cafe on-site, location, sports court on-site, wonderful people. Incentive program is outstanding. They are appreciative of their employees ALL the time.

    Cons

Employee involvement, inter-department isolation, lack of positions available internally. No temporary benefits offered through company.

    Advice to Management

Your seasonal employees are your most valuable untapped resource! The talent there was hired for their abilities, and yet the isolation from all other departments is palpable. The incentives seasonals are offered are truly amazing and your social responsibility is excellent, but the connectedness that the company has in most areas is lost with that element of the workforce.

I worked at Intuit full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Intuit and Brad Smith are exceptional they just need to get rid of a few of the bad seeds.

    Cons

When things start changing, the unrealistic expectations that some people place on others without knowing the whole past work history of that person is unacceptable. Just because you may not like someone is no reason to force them out of the company.

    Advice to Management

Take a much closer look at the upper level management in the ProTax (or whatever name they are calling themselves this year) department. The front line and specialist teams are not treated like Intuit treats their employees. The supervisors need to be replaced as do the department leads.

I have been working at Intuit full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

There are many wonderful programs that are offered (unstructured time, Innovation Catalyst/D4D, etc) that are entirely dependent on management support. If your direct manager supports the program - as most do - you're golden.

    Cons

A bad manager can offset many of the benefits offered, and greatly lower overall satisfaction. I changed managers and business units and it made a huge difference.

    Advice to Management

Ensure that offered programs are universally supported on all levels. There's occasionally a large difference between program availability by manager/team/BU.
