Generally good people at Invacare. Local company with hq in Cleveland.

    Cons

The effects of the consent decree have really hurt the business.

    Advice to Management

    Keep people informed and engaged.

I worked at Invacare full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good people, decent benefits, average compensation

    Cons

Everyone's concerned for their job, poor work environment. Parking lot in disrepair. Freshen the place up with new paint/carpet - it's oppressive. Get rid of the 1970's music playing overhead

    Advice to Management

Get through consent decree. It's been nearly 3 years. Take company private and provide clear direction to get this once great company back on track

    I worked at Invacare

    Pros

Large Company with great benefits.... Many products to sell.... Good people in my division that truly wanted to succeed and make money....

    Cons

Financial issues affected by FDA decree that caused flow of equipment to grind to a halt. Cant make the numbers if you can't supply the equipment to newly acquired business.

    Advice to Management

look within the ranks to promote at the director and above levels. Nothing worse than running appointments in a LTC setting with your superior that two weeks prior was selling copiers........

I have been working at Invacare full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good people, strong upper management, decent - good benefits

    Cons

Business heavily reliant on insurances to pay for high quality products produced. Insurance reimbursements are on a steady decline and government medicare/medicaid payers are a terrible disruption to the home medical equipment industry.

    Advice to Management

Need to take care of employees and ensure employees aren't getting burned out "prior" to their departure. Balance is way off Work 70% - Life 30%

    I worked at Invacare

    Pros

Pros: Stable company, market leader, good product, competitive pricing, good people who you can learn from and be inspired by, opportunity for advancement, tuition reimbursement, major medical, 401K, sense of "helping" people due to the nature of the products.

    Cons

Cons: Old boy network, but HR is actively trying to change that, if you're strong, smart and network right, you can break through, favoritism, heavy politics, a lot of peer pressure to drink and party with the executives, can be a "peyton place", Medicare drives a lot of the business - can be good or bad depending on your perspective

    Advice to Management

Address the issues that are brought to your attention, the intent is to make the company better for everyone involved.

I have been working at Invacare

    Pros

    Company with good people culture.

    Cons

Primarily Headquartered in the US which affects perspective of the Australian Market.

    Advice to Management

You know the AU Market better than International stakeholders. You have the capability - just call the shots and run with it.

    Pros

Good People, mostly. A solid team in Logistics that was able to grow and improve performance levels with little interference.

    Cons

Communication gaps internally & tyrannical local HR under the false impression they ran the organization. Poor Management at Corporate Level in US impacted worldwide locations.

    Advice to Management

FIX the issues with the FDA!!!
