I have been working at Invacare full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Medical company that has some great people working there. If you are the right person you can move up quickly as they have a high turnover rate.

    Cons

Pressure to move projects along leads to cutting corners. A lot like society, an elite upper management rules over the tons of entry level or low paid workers with minimal middle class workers. Very dysfunctional setup and communication between marketing and engineering draws down product quality and negatively effects many products at initial launch.

    Advice to Management

Live by what you say and be willing to take a step back and see what pushing projects through the system is doing. Have some dialog with people and see what is really going on and don't just give rah rah speaches.

I worked at Invacare full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Fun environment, lots of great people

    Cons

IT dept was outsourced. Company was/is being audited by FDA which caused a lot of headache for a lot of people. Management needed a clear route to take, but implemented "solutions" that did not seem right for the company as a whole...such as outsourcing entire departments.

I have been working at Invacare full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great people Producing products that help people At this point it is hard to find a lot of 'pros' unfortunately.

    Cons

Archaic technology used to execute complex paper based systems Absent management Consent decree Poor raises Poor vacation Bad morale Lack of accountability Threats and rumors of layoffs

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees- reach out to them and create an opportunity vent constructively Apply technology intelligently so folks are not wandering around collecting signatures Let folks make decisions and hold them accountable- good or bad
