I worked at InvenSense (More than a year)

    Pros

free dinners after 19:30; bagels on Friday mornings.

    Cons

Company is still being run as a startup, not as a going concern with 9-digit annual sales, so everything is done 'in arrears' as a result of customer demand; little forward planning

    Pros

Dedicated employees, flexible work hours, good location with easy access from both the North and South bay.

    Cons

Management is truly lacking and it's not being addressed. You've got "old school" folks in running entire departments like HR. Not willing to raise the bar and thus the key employees who could push the company forward are leaving or have already left.

Identity theft scam that impacted entire company due to negligent Finance temp sending out 2015 W2s.

    Advice to Management

If management is not delivering, it's time to push them out. You lost a lot of key employees while I was there. Employees leave because of managers. No one is looking into the why or addressing the black sheep in the room.

    Pros

If you want to work on motion sensor technology, you could do worse.

    Cons

For almost anything other than motion sensors, stay away, especially anything related to audio. They bought the Analog Devices MEMS microphone business for a boatload years ago and to this day haven't figured out what to do with it.

    Advice to Management

Select a strategy and stick with it. Focus on execution. Get serious about developing the MEMS microphone business or sell it. As long as your portfolio is several dozen sensor types short and contains no solution for sensor aggregation, you might want to ditch "sensing everything" as your motto. It only reflects how reality falls woefully short of the ambitions you might have had once.

    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

    The products are very interesting.

    Cons

The management has no long term plan, even weekly plan. All things change in the fly.
Also, the company promoted some managers/directors without thinking they have no any people management skill. They are careless and rude to the people under them and flattering to the people above them.

    Advice to Management

Be fair to everybody and make clear long term and short term goal.
