    Pros

If you want to work on motion sensor technology, you could do worse.

    Cons

For almost anything other than motion sensors, stay away, especially anything related to audio. They bought the Analog Devices MEMS microphone business for a boatload years ago and to this day haven't figured out what to do with it.

    Advice to Management

Select a strategy and stick with it. Focus on execution. Get serious about developing the MEMS microphone business or sell it. As long as your portfolio is several dozen sensor types short and contains no solution for sensor aggregation, you might want to ditch "sensing everything" as your motto. It only reflects how reality falls woefully short of the ambitions you might have had once.

    Pros

Challenging Problems, Good place to work, Flexibility and guidance is available. A good place to start your career. Resource support was good. Hustling attitude to reach to the customer is good.

    Cons

Workload is sometimes high. Working with expectation of sales and marketing people can be sometimes difficult. In general health of company is not good.

    Advice to Management

Setting the right expectation from the sales and marketing will be very helpful in finishing the products and the features expected. Planning towards productization can be done better.

I have been working at InvenSense full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The people who work here are bright and the technology is one of a kind. It's a very exciting space to be in right now and I think the company is well on it's way to being able to grow, not only on the technological side, but also company culture as well.

    Cons

Work and life balance is lacking here. The teams are very lean and may not properly staffed for where the company wants to go.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees and appreciate all of the work that they do for you. Rewarding them, whether big or small goes a long ways.

I have been working at InvenSense full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

InvenSense has amazing technology, second to none. The future of IoT is in Sensors and the smarter and more performance oriented the sensor the better. The management team is solid and individuals are rewarded for their true contributions. We work hard but it's an wonderful working environment.

    Cons

The market segment is cutthroat, to be a successful company you need to work hard and beat your competitors. If you aren't strong enough to be part of a winning company or if you are looking for a kushy spoon fed environment, then this isn't the place for you.

    Advice to Management

Continue to set a strong course to follow

I have been working at InvenSense full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Love the people in the microphone group in Boston

    Cons

    Lack of Innovation
    Lack of clear company strategy
Poor company culture in San Jose
Extremely poor management and decision making starting at the top
No career growth (negative career growth in actuality)
    Low morale

    Advice to Management

Either fully support the microphone group or sell it. Turn over in the group is reaching absurd levels. It is sad seeing what has transpired over the past 3 years.
Start listening to employees and actually addressing concerns.
    Support real innovation.
Probably time for a new CEO

    Pros

Emerging technology, Interesting products and deep knowledge in MEMS design

    Cons

Horrible management !!!!!! Roadmap of the company changes quarterly if not monthly.
Most of the managers are promoted immaturely and not qualified to be a manager at all.
    Lots of micromanaging ..
No work/life balance at all. Expect to work in the weekends.
Basically you need to work like crazy to satisfy the high end customers needs.
There is no feedback mechanism , your manager will not give you feedback at all at the end of the quarter, because they
They don't give you a decent salary increase or title upgrade unless you ask for it , or show them you have an offer in hand.
They tell you, they value you only you have an offer. Otherwise you are a working slave.
Horrible insurance plans and benefits, not even close to an average company.

    Advice to Management

Focusing of the customers is good, but you should think about your employees as well.
You cant manage a company with the "cheap" mentally forever. You need to built up a proper feedback mechanism from top to bottom. There is already a review procedure but nobody follows it. Did you realize that ?

great opportunity in the domain of the mobiles phone, Internet of Things and wearable devices including the head mounted display and drone business

    Cons

lack of clear strategy and lack of proper execution is creating opportunity costs that could compromise the company future. Need to make execution way more predictable

    Advice to Management

freeze a strategy clean up house
