Pros
- Good place to learn automation & control - Good project opportunities, including international ones - Wide variety of projects (eg. Oil & Gas, Nuclear etc), with their own unique challenges - Lots of good employees, had several friends - Many good supervisors and mid level managers.
Cons
- Promotion from within was limited to lower/mid management. Senior management were in many cases outsiders with no industry experience - Compensation (pay) was not that good - Employee performance assessment was a joke. - Silo mentality. Each region is a P&L, so plenty of turf wars. I've seen 2 different regions trying to compete for the same project!
