    Pros

I've had much more opportunity at Invitrogen than possible at other biotech companies. There is an atmosphere about training and improving everyone for the benefit of the company. Also, the hours are somewhat flexible. Most arrive between 7 and 9 am. The benefits are great and the cost for health insurance is minimal. They have opportunities for everyone and are often promoting community involvement.

    Cons

The environment is often negative. It's difficult to keep away from those that drag you down by complaining about low pay. Further, the pay is not comparable to other biotech companies.

    Advice to Management

t all starts with you. All the negativity and disappointment can be undone with a few up beat words and motivation from the people on top. All the feelings of senior management are amplified as they move down the chain

    Pros

the biotech industry is relatively stable and not too sensitive to general economic conditions. Long term growth possible, work not too stressful compared to other high tech industry.

this company has a very old and slow corporate culture, there is very little incentive for doing a good job, relatively low salary and benefit.

    Advice to Management

    should focus on employee development.

    Pros

Good Pay, Good PTO, personal growth is there if you take advantage of it. Company is not the best though, CEO is looking to fill his pockets.

Cost Savings measures always being implemented. CEO is looking to fill his pockets by taking constantly taking cost saving measures.
