The most innovative company I've ever worked for

Feb 12, 2021 - Product Manager Marketing Technology

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Iovate is working hard to make a real turnaround from the days of Iovate past. The new leadership team is clearly focused on creating a culture of excellence built on the idea that we should invest in innovative programs and testing. If you're interested in a place where work/life balance is a priority and you're pushing the boundary on the way we build our digital future.

      Cons

When COVID is manageable, it will be nice to meet with our teams.

Fantastic Opportunity To Shape Into an Iconic Company

Feb 8, 2021 - SLT Member In Marketing

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Iovate is a progressive company with new leadership and a fantastic set of products, investing in breathing new life into its brands. Though the company has faced challenges in the past, those challenges have been well diagnosed and are being worked through. The new leadership team is present, engaged, and aware of what needs to happen for Iovate to win in the modern marketplace. Work from home is now a standard perk. The company provides great vacation time, competitive 401K, and a flexible environment for people to be able to exist in the modern work-life balance. I couldn't recommend working here more

      Cons

The legacy issues mentioned above still permeate the company, making work harder than it should be in a number of key areas. While these areas are being addressed, these issues still exist and provide unique challenges for people who like to roll up their sleeves and bring a solutions oriented mindset to challenging problems.

Great Place to Work and Expand Your Skill Set

      Pros

You have the opportunity to learn a lot and see your decisions and efforts make substantial impacts. The projects you work on are not monotonous, there is always something new to work on. You are not being micro-managed, management trusts your decisions. They provide a very good work-life balance. The new leadership team has articulated a road map to success and shares those goals and strategies with the broader company.

      Cons

Nothing significant beyond the standard growing pains that comes with new leadership and strategies.

Simply put... a joke of a company

      Dec 29, 2016 - Anonymous Employee

      Pros

Very nice gym. Decent food options. Not many companies have that benefit. Free product.

      Cons

Unprofessional is an understatement. Intelligance isnt a requirement to get ahead and advance in this company. You are best off if you sit back, have no opinions, no people skills and zero desire to have a positive work environment for yourself and coworkers. Those who make extremely costly mistakes in the company, sleep around and flirt with management get the best positions and better raises. Do not tell HR anything confidential or speak up about abuse or corruption. The word confidential has an extremely loose meaning in that department and your business will be spread amongst everyone even if they swear to keep a topic or issue completely confidential. HR will yell at you, degrade you and expect you to have no response to being spoken to like a piece of garbage. If you want to last here, keep your mouth shut and put up with constant verbal abuse and lots of empty promises.

      Close to our customer

      Pros

Good connection with the customer. Invests in people to work with customers at their store fronts. It gives great customer and consumer insight. Invests in local charitable causes that employees can refer in. Lots of opportunity for advancement into any area of the company; you are not silo'd into one department. Much improved communication from the Executive team -- feel like a consistent company message is finally being shared.

      Cons

Was more issues of the past, but many have been addressed with some culture changes.

      Pros

Fun job, flexible and great for someone that likes pounding the pavement and making their own schedule. Outside sales is akin to treating it like it's your own business.

      Cons

Disconnect between upper management and people that are in the field. They just want to see numbers and don't care that at times it's unrealistic to achieve their lofty goals.

      Pros

The team in charge of the US Field Team are extremely dedicated to the success of their employees.

      Cons

Sometimes conflicts can arise between HQ in Canada and what's actually happening in the states.
