Excellent Company with a Compelling Product and Culture
Sep 11, 2017 - Senior Forensics Analyst in Portland, ORRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Absolutely incredible and positive culture. Everyone here appears to be committed and hardworking. The product is fantastic, complex, and provides real value to a wide and stable customer base that is growing. I have worked at some different companies in my career and they all have their own mix of ingredients, but so far this one seems to have it just right. The work life balance is the best I have ever experienced at a company and a wide spectrum of people in the company went out of their way to set me up for success when I was hired on. Additionally people here are on top of emerging trends and technologies. The mix of backgrounds and expertise of the individuals that work here is outstanding and inspiring! Coming to work here every day is just simply a pleasure and you can feel good about what the company does and how it helps others.
Cons
There are no real cons I am seeing so far. There are some challenges that will have to be met as the company grows. Many of the engineering leaders are what I would consider "working leaders" and they will have to change somewhat through growth and they will need to delegate more and take a more strategic role but that is all achievable. There are quite a few folks here that have been around a long time and it's clear they are passionate about the product and company and want to see it continue to succeed.

Good Company With Okay Sales Team
Jan 18, 2021 - Business DevelopmentRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
A friendly company culture with helpful people to work with. Great product and customer success team.
Cons
Very little training and old school approach for the sales team. Sales leadership was very average. Don't go there if you want to learn how to be an amazing salesperson.

Small Company Feel with Big Company Benefits
Apr 25, 2019 - Anonymous Employee in Portland, ORRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Execs are open and willing to engage in conversation about how to make things better. They are good people and really do care. iovation is a leader in the fraud market and only getting stronger with TransUnion. The people are exceptional, best I have ever worked with. The environment is flexible with work from home options. There is a big opportunity to help build a new business unit within a large successful company. Employee benefits really good (medical, dental, vision, 401k with match, discounted stock purchase, unlimited PTO).
Cons
The coffee is really bad and there is no free food (not even from vending machines). This is a big con for a tech company, especially bad coffee in Portland. There is no excuse for this. The office itself is in a good loction but the interior is on the low end for tech or professional businesses. Some employees are having a hard time after the acquisition. They do not feel like they can make an impact in the same way and see everything as negative. Their complaining is a downer. Some things take longer to get done.

This company is great!
Jun 6, 2018 - Salesforce Administrator in Portland, ORRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Newly hired and feel so fortunate to have found iovation in my job search and for the opportunity to work here. The interview process was pleasant. Some companies when interviewing drag it out, make it difficult on the candidate, ask pointless questions or demonstrations, and then make the candidate suffer through a long waiting process. Not iovation! The process was swift and felt relevant to the type of work I would be doing. And the interviewers treated me like a human. I got such a good impression of the company via the interview process. It's rare to find a tech company, let alone a corporate tech company, that has such a warm culture. So far, my impression has been accurate. iovation treats its employees well, and you can tell just from talking to others that people are really happy to work here. Some have left other big name tech firms, and discuss how it would take a great deal to make them leave iovation.
Cons
iovation is growing very fast, even more so now that they have been acquired by TransUnion. There is a lot of work to do, and many positions to fill.

Some have gone on to different departments after seeing more potential there. A lot of cross-departmental interaction. Receives exposure to many different areas. High performing organization. Always improving and growing.
Cons
Downtown Location. Traffic might be an issue if you're not used to it. No organization is perfect. You always have to look at the fit with the there people/personalities on your new prospective team. I will say Iovation has a high standard for hiring people that fit their culture of excellence, integrity, and passion for what you do. This really has been secret for a while. It's an incredible organization to work for. Come apply as soon as you can!

Making the Internet a Safer Place
Nov 8, 2016 - Anonymous Employee in Portland, ORRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Very smart and dedicated staff. Strong culture. Passionate about helping banks, retailers and other online businesses detect fraud. It's exciting to be on a team that is paving the way to a passwordless future. The 2016 acquisition of LaunchKey has been very exciting as it extends iovation's device-based authentication service to a full multifactor authentication suite. The transition of rolling the LaunchKey employees and technology into iovation was seamless. Employees love iovation's commitment to community and volunteer days, supporting non-profits such as Oregon Food Bank, Free Geek, Children's Book Bank, p:ear, Village Gardens, New Avenues for Youth, Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation and Janus Youth.
Cons
Sometimes the sun comes out and we have to pull down the shades, blocking an incredible view of Portland from the 32nd floor of Big Pink.

Excellent place to work and it feels great to be a part of this global fraud-fighting community
Sep 2, 2011 - in Portland, ORRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
iovation is a terrific place to work and the employees are proud to be helping online businesses in the fight against online fraud. We work with global virtual crime fighters (fraud analysts) at retail, finance, gaming, dating and other online sites - and together we track the latest fraud trends and put preventative techniques in place so that those businesses are not hit by credit card fraud, identity fraud, account takeover situations and more.
Cons
Many of our gaming / MMO customers are Korean and it would be great to have more Korean-speaking employees.

Excellent place to learn and solve problems together
Apr 2, 2018 - Anonymous Employee in Portland, ORRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
A very smart group to work with that are open to new approaches and have a strong basis in a positive, fun culture. It genuinely feels like everyone has a stake in the way the company operates. I feel that I am challenged each day in a way that is motivating, primarily because you are actually rewarded for your above and beyond effort here.
Cons
Too much freedom could mean flying too close to the sun without proper guidance - luckily, it's very easy to stay connected with the entire organization if you feel that something is going wrong and need to ask for help.
