    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Irene’s Story part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Flexible schedule Coworkers are looked at as a close knit family In love with main office workers- all so nice and professional and very hard working Jenna, the manager at Mission Viejo mall, is one of the most professional workers I have come across; always with a positive attitude and made me so excited to come into work everyday

    Cons

I have nothing bad to say about my experience here at Irene's Story. Whenever a customer had an issue or something was wrong in the store, the managers and sales associates worked with each other as well as main office to fix the problem immediately.

    Advice to Management

No advice to be given. Irene and the rest of the workers in main office were amazing with what they did and strived for perfection in the company.

I worked at Irene’s Story full-time for less than a year

    Pros

They provide catered lunch and parking.

    Cons

Worked for a parent company but same owners as Irene's Story. They encouraged creativity and new ideas and tell you they like what you're doing but then they criticize your work after they let you go. No sensitivity to their employees and the owner is cold hearted. No communication or constructive criticism which is necessary in a creative position. They have you work on things you aren't hired for. I asked for a job...

    Advice to Management

Communicate. Tell your employees what you like and don't like so that they can learn to grow into a better employee instead of firing them in a few weeks. You will never receive someone who understands your creative eye without you explaining to them what you like, so try communicating your needs.

      I worked at Irene’s Story

      Pros

My coworkers and I became very close friends!

      Cons

This company is driven by greed. They discriminate against their employees and only allow Koreans to move up in the company. Key holdeers are paid $11.00 an hour and are given the same responsibilities as a manager who make $15-$17 an hour! This company lacks compassion and communication for their employees. Every now and then my location would receive a new manager or we would have new rules enforced, but were never...

      Pros

      company offers good employee discount

      Cons

racist disrespectful unorganized inconsiderate blames employees for things that are suppose to be the manager's responsibility not much growth in the company or stores if you're not korean managers doesn't speak english therefore they will not communicate with the employees the company will attempt to blame manager's fault on you very horrible hours if you are not favorited

      Advice to Management

Diversity makes the store fun, friendly, thriving Kindness earns respect from your workers Communications builds team work Thoughtfulness encourages workers to work harder for you as someone who has known and loved the company since 2011, your new managers working at #4 and #6 are very very incredibly disappointing

      I worked at Irene’s Story part-time

      Pros

The younger girls are typically sweethearts. The employee discount is 30% off but you may only buy things that have been on the rack for over a week, by then most sizes sell out, and only can buy something once a month.

      Cons

The entire management is run as if is their own small business, that is not a small corporation who must abide strictly by anti-discriminatory laws. The company talks openly about never hiring men in the stores, the women MUST wear either heels or strappy flat sandals (anything uncomfortable- not a single sneaker or Doc Marten). The main office does not take work performance into account, openly saying sales aren't a...

      Advice to Management

Management should not just be chosen because of race, rather then experience and hard work. I have personally seen employees let go or demoted to put someone of Korean decent above them with no relevant training. Despite excuses such "since the CEO is Korean" she "prefers" Koreans, having eight stores means you must let go of personal stigmas. Every one of the girls working in the company can speak on a personal way in...
