I have been working at Ironwood Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Explosive growth in a number of programs and lots of opportunities to prove yourself. You get help when you need it, but if you can get things done on your own, this will be noticed and appreciated. Caliber of people, day-to-day flexibility, collaboration/ownership mentality, sense of meaning in what I do and transparency of sr management make any other company a hard sell.

    Cons

There are always growing pains. When you nearly double your staff in 2 years, culture takes a hit. More coaching by managers, meaningful training and development of talent may help with retention.

    Advice to Management

Engage fresh faces for townhall meetings and program updates. Old time favs cause fatigue

I worked at Ironwood Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I was a FTE at Ironwood for 5 years, when I first started, I loved the culture here. Your ideas and opinions were heard, it didn't matter what position you had.

    Cons

Unfortunately, the culture has changed, all the new hires coming in are all senior levels.

    Advice to Management

Take care of the ones that are no senior level, they are the ones doing all the work anyways.

    Pros

Was a great company, data driven. Not any more.

    Cons

More than 60% are director and above, all about politics, no one cares about science and data,]. Meetings after meeting but no results.

    Cons

No cons to mention except for the lack of growth in stock value over the last 5 years

    Pros

Lots of career growth and opportunity as the company continues to build. Great access to senior management and a very collaborative, non-big pharma environment

    Cons

decision-making can be challenging, owner-mentality means frugality, although benefits are very good and salaries are competitive

    Pros

Great company culture; great people to work with; company cares equally about "what" is done and "how" it's done which encourages employees to be at their best performance and behavior (HR is doing a wonderful job); great science; humble leadership which empowers employees; great teamwork; flexibility respecting work - personal life balance

    Cons

Having a hard time finding a con. If I try very hard, I'd say the pace of decision-making in meetings could be improved.

    Advice to Management

Keep on doing what you are doing!

    Advice to Management

The company needs an agile, experienced and aggressive BD team
