I worked at Island One Resorts full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

culture and teamwork, access to senior management, open communication from management, leadership, knowledge of colleagues, employee benefits like discounted lodging.

    Cons

After being taken over by Diamond Resorts, not sure how much of Island One's culture remains. industry transition creating business model challenges, technology outdated and cumbersome

    Advice to Management

Keep local culture intact, rather than force corporate-led initiatives that may not make sense in local market. Improve technology for all functions - operations, finance, etc.

      Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

I worked at Island One Resorts full-time

      Pros

The corporate office was a great place to work. There was a lot of working together on projects. Most of the time, people pitched in to help.

      Cons

It seemed like the people who did not do a lot of work were rewarded the same as the people who worked hardest. It seemed like it took a lot to get fired.

      Advice to Management

The company has been purchased by Diamond Resorts so the prior management team must have done a good job to build a great and valuable company.
