I have been working at Isolux Corsan full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great Co-workers, good pay, solid benefits, Multi-national, continuous opportunities to work outside the box and learn new skills.

    Cons

Financial strength and corporate management are a risk to long term success.
Some cultural difficulty assimilating European and American business styles.

    Advice to Management

Use American project management to work with US contractors.

I worked at Isolux Corsan full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good team environment in the accounting department.
    Company is growing.
    Job security.
    Exposure to engineering/construction/renewables businesses.
Learned a good amount about accounts payable here as well.
Senior accounting management was competent and a pleasure to work with.
My time here overall was good, and I wish the company success.

    Cons

    Politics were thick at times.
Leadership in Spain was out-of-touch with US office at times.
US employees were not treated as well as expats at times.
Average turnover was about a year for most employees as this was a "safe haven" to get back in the job market when the economy was weaker in 2010-2013.
My immediate manager tried to stifle my growth at times. This person seemed insecure that I was degreed and she was not.
No raises, the company was highly frugal to US employees.
    No upward mobility

    Advice to Management

Treat US employees better if you want to retain them for the long term

I have been working at Isolux Corsan (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    None

There is little to get in this company. If you just grad and wants to learn some of the office experience go ahead but do not stay in Isolux more that 6 months.

    Cons

Management. If there is any, does not have any idea on how to conduct a business here in USA. They still think that they are in Spain and therefore they follow that business practice.
There is no room for professional development. Any higher position that may become available. They will fill it up by bringing somebody from Spain, who is also probably a close friend of the manager. They will make you pay for your travel expenses, and even though that you expended money within the policy. You will get questioned when you submit them, not to mention the fact that it could take up to month to get your money back.

Trying to take any day off is a a literal pain, as you have to go and beg for the days., And other employees disappear on paid leave for two or three months (mostly Spanish)

This company is trying to expand within the U.S but they only want to get contracts and subcontract everything from the cleaning department all the way up to the project manager. Therefore there is no room to get any professional experience, as all the experienced personnel will be subcontracted and they will work for some else.

Last bu not least. This company has a very aggressive work environment, since the spaniers have their own "team/club" which excludes other ethnics like Hispanics Americans. Even the espresso cups are keep under key or they are only given to the Spanish.

I forgot no raises since almost two years ago!!!.

    Advice to Management

Hire a Business adviser, stop the friendship policy!!!. Don't be rude with the employees. Train your employees, and stop calling them names. Raise the Salaries to a competitive level.
