I worked at Ivanhoé Cambridge (More than a year)

    Pros

Great experience, in terms of seeing how companies/a mall functions.

    Cons

    Pay is dreadfully low
    Staff turnover rate extremely HIGH
Multiple responsibilities that become tedious (ie. logging EVERYTHING on excel)
Border-line exploitative behaviour, they make you do SO many things when they pay you a low wage
Mandatory meetings even though it may not be scheduled according to your availability that you provided
Whenever a budget cut happens, they cut the pay/hours of guest service representatives
Work as a team but since turnover rate is so high, there IS NO team that can be built
Have to assist with training new employees (2-3 every month) because people leave every month, this means that you are basically doing the work of 2-3 people while the new employees learn

    Advice to Management

    Increase pay to retain workers

I worked at Ivanhoé Cambridge full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Good Vacation and benefits package.

    Cons

Forced travel to training sessions, lots of internal changes, and to much micro management. Seasoned staff seem very entitled and unfriendly to newcomers. Very impatient when training newcomers, staff are expected to muddle through regardless.

    Advice to Management

If you see a lot of turn over in departments, then you need to ask questions.

    Low pay

    Pros

well resourced company. theres a process for everything. good work life balance - unless you have a workaholic manager.. .

    Cons

slow for change. alot of rules. procedures can get very confusing, in such big company. and alot of "lifers", if you want to move up, you would have to wait for someone to die..

    Advice to Management

to retain young talents for the next generation, you would have to get with the times. the same things that drive the baby boomer don't work for us.
