I have been working at Ivey Marketing part-time for more than a year

    Pros

I started at Ivey as a temp, and was offered a full time position after 3 months. As I was perusing a college degree, I asked for reduced hours to fulfill my educational goals. I was thrilled that they valued me and my work more than the hours that my job demanded. I was constantly reminded of my value to the company, and I was happy to deliver what they needed. Every employee that I have worked with is top-notch....

    Cons

Cross-departmental training/knowledge base could use some fine tuning. It would be great if every employee could have a working knowledge of the company's capabilities.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing and allow time for all employees to learn about the capabilities that Ivey offers!

I worked at Ivey Marketing full-time

    Pros

    The people are very nice

    Cons

Pretty much everything. Not really a marketing agency, and more of a production company.

    Pros

The people who actually work are the reason the doors stayed open as long as they did......thankfully THe anchor is no longer Weighing the Boat into the Ground!

    Cons

Ineptitude a-go-go.... unfortunately the CEO doesn't know what he doesn't know, but he doesn't know that! He can spin a tall tale with the best of them..... problem being he starts believing it and the truth is quickly lost on a boat to the promised land!?

    Advice to Management

Stop being a pack of bullies who hide behind the bible thinking you can read a passage to yourself of an evening and be forgiven for the lies you've told yourself, customers, employees, vendors and potetial employees all in a days work!

I worked at Ivey Marketing full-time

    Pros

Most of the co-workers were good to work with

    Cons

Upper management does not follow the "core values" that it expounds on and is making poor decisions on hiring and firing. My immediate supervisor lacked basic communication skills and failed to create a "team" atmosphere, with frequent "meltdowns"and snapping at fellow workers. The work was doled out on a repetitive pattern with no variation. The atmosphere was somber and dreary due to supervisors personality.

    Advice to Management

Genuinely listen to employees input and needs and give managers proper leadership training and reviews, hire a new salesperson and replace current CEO

I worked at Ivey Marketing full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Great people and interesting projects.

    Cons

Upper management just can't seem to get it right. They all seem to want change for change sake. So much of what they do drives workers crazy for their lack of insight and wisdom. Good people tend to leave because of it. They are taking a good company down, which is a shame. They need to look at what has historically made the company flourish, keep those going while adding new streams, not declare older streams as obsolete...

    Advice to Management

Look in the mirror and live by your own core values. You hold them up as something holy, yet break them on a regular basis.

They had flexible hours and tried to get talent in the door.

    Cons

    I worked at Ivey Marketing

    Pros

Ivey was a great place to work at. First of all, 15 minutes from downtown Portland, great location. Also, the people and culture formulated there was amazing. The CEO and CMO invested a lot in me, and I could tell they valued me (unlike many bosses I have worked for before). The leadership style from superiors was comfortable and friendly as well as firm, especially when on a time crunch. Great way to motivate employees....

Not much to complain about, other than wanting some natural light in the offices but other than that, it was great.

I have been working at Ivey Marketing

    Pros

The level of collaboration here is very high. We all honestly try to help each other out when needed. We have ridden the wild business cycle through the Great Recession. We have had our ups and downs and back ups. Some of the people I work with have been here for more than 25 years. I have been here going on 15 years. That alone should count for more than any online review. I love what I do and I love the people I...

I worked at Ivey Marketing full-time

    Pros

Leadership and their decisions were all very ethically sound. They made sure to maintain a working relationship with all parts of the company, making me especially feel welcomed and comfortable. Everything revolves around the core values of the company. This was made prevalent to me through the culture and people that make up Ivey. This was the only job I have had where I felt like it was one big family, as cliche as...

    Cons

The work is incredibly strenuous. This wasn't made completely clear to me through the employment process but I caught on pretty quickly. The people/culture acted as a counterweight for the long hard hours that we were putting in. Unfortunately there were also a couple bad eggs that snuck through the cracks and were deadweights. It was clear that they were not invested in the overall objectives of the company and did just...
