    Pros

You get to learn a lot, which does help in your future. You might be ahead of the learning curve in other companies due to this. Ixia really helps in shaping up your professional life if you are keen on working and learning. If you are lucky to have a great mentor, you can learn more and get recognized too. The perks are good as well the salary.

    Cons

Technical publication team had a bad work culture. If you really are working hard, please work on your political stature too. You need to butter up your manager, show work (that you haven't done), and butter up your manager. Yes, that's all! I am not kidding at all as I have seen people get through this really well. Work is getting done as our engineers, IT people, and other support teams are great. The senior tech writers have immense experience and have good knowledge but that stops there. Anything beyond that is just ballooned up experience with no knowledge!
Micro management takes the cake and the icing! Good luck with that!!!

    Advice to Management

Please improve, or else employees will leave you rather then the company!

    I worked at Ixia full-time

    Pros

If you are lucky, you can end up working with a team of professionals. But those teams are rare.

    Cons

Senior Management lack of vision, poor people skills. Only a few possess or display technical / engineering skills.
Poor performers are tolerated, sometimes even promoted.

    Advice to Management

Train, train and train again, develop yourselves, be open minded.

    Pros

For the most part, we get to work with highly intelligent people. Depending on your role, you'll have the opportunity to travel the country/world. Adequate pay and bonus structure, assuming the company achieves internal targets. Opportunities are created for those who are willing to work for them.

    Cons

It can be very difficult to terminate an employee, for various reasons. An employee could easily get by with poor performance for years without being held accountable. He or she would have to take a dump on the CEOs desk in order to be terminated immediately - anything short of that wouldn't get attention. Seemingly, all decisions are made by the CEO and with little or no context.

    Advice to Management

hold people accountable for their actions and foster a pay-for-performance environment
